Bane just looked up at her, tail wagging even faster, completely ignoring her 'threat.'
"Let's go eat."
Hudson grabbed Nora's hand, leading her inside.
Bane let out a few muffled whines around the frisbee. Seeing that they weren't turning back, he dropped the toy and lay down on the grass, panting heavily.
But his ears kept twitching, clearly keeping a close watch on the smaller dog.
Realizing she hadn't moved an inch, Bane barked at her a few times, then picked up the frisbee and dropped it right at her paws, looking incredibly smug, like a king bestowing a grand gift upon a peasant.
At first, the female dog didn't dare touch it, terrified Bane would yell at her again.
Her big, doe-like eyes darted toward him nervously. Seeing that he wasn't taking it back, she flattened her ears and slowly leaned in to give the plastic disc a tentative lick.
When she saw that Bane didn't mind her slobber on his toy, she finally picked it up in her mouth, giving a happy little tail wag.
By the time Nora and Hudson finished breakfast, the two dogs were happily playing together in the yard.
While the staff cleared the table, Nora lounged on the sofa, scrolling through her phone with a massive grin on her face.
"What are you looking at?"
Hudson handed her a glass of orange juice.
Nora immediately turned her screen toward him.
It was an AI-generated picture of an impossibly cute baby boy. He had massive, round eyes, but there was a distinct, cool aloofness in his gaze. He was so incredibly adorable it was criminal.
Hudson raised an eyebrow. The kid looked oddly familiar.
"Look at this baby, isn't he so cute?"
Hudson gave it a brief glance. "Not bad."
"What do you mean, 'not bad'? He's gorgeous!"
