Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 611

The more she tried to explain, the worse she made it.

Deciding to abandon logic, Nora resorted to shaking his arm, her voice turning impossibly soft and sweet. "Don't be mad... I swear I wasn't looking."

Hudson lowered his eyes, his jaw clenched tight. He didn't push her away, but he didn't lean into her either. He just stared at her with a maddeningly impassive expression.

Realizing words weren't going to work, Nora tilted her head up and pressed a soft kiss to his jaw.

When he still didn't respond, she trailed her lips down the sharp line of his jaw, landing right on his Adam's apple.

The hard column of his throat bobbed as he swallowed, and she heard a faint, suppressed groan rumble deep in his chest, like a beast fighting its leash.

Acting purely on instinct, she traced the tip of her tongue against the rough skin.

His breathing hitched.

Before Nora could pull back, his fingers hooked under her chin, holding her firmly in place.

"You like looking at my abs?" Hudson stared down at her, the dark hunger in his eyes completely unmasked now. His voice was raw.

Faced with a question that had only one right answer, Nora nodded frantically.

Hudson grabbed her hand and brought her fingertips down to rest flat against his waist. "Unbuckle it. You can feel them all you want."

The second her fingers brushed the cold metal of his belt buckle, reality snapped back. Her heart hammered in her chest, and she tried to pull her hand away, but his grip was like a steel vise.

"What's wrong? You don't want to touch mine?" His voice carried a wicked, dangerous amusement. "Who did you want to touch, then?"

It was a flawless trap.

Left with no other option, Nora bit her lip, hooked her finger under the edge of the buckle, and pressed down.

With a soft click, the leather belt gave way.

Hudson's breathing turned ragged.

He looked down at her, his gaze impossibly deep, the predatory smirk on his lips completely unapologetic. Keeping his hand over hers, he guided her palm flat against his stomach.

The moment her skin met his, Nora could feel every hard ridge and valley of his muscles. He was blazing hot, his core tight and completely solid, rising and falling heavily with every breath he took.

"Feel good?"

She didn't answer, her ears burning scarlet.

He slowly guided her hand lower, his voice dropping into a devastatingly rough whisper. "It feels even better a little lower."

...

The next morning, Nora woke up with every muscle in her body aching, her mind instantly assaulted by the highly inappropriate flashes of last night.

She hadn't touched lingerie since the first time she made that mistake. Hudson was incredibly dominant in bed on a normal day, but the second she put that kind of outfit on, he lost what little restraint he had. He always pushed her to the absolute edge.

But since she was the one in the wrong last night, he had smoothly coerced her into doing it again.

Now, trying to get out of bed...

Nora held her sore lower back, biting down on her lip in sheer frustration.

Hudson arched a brow. "Look into the twins. I want them found, dead or alive."

"Yes, Boss."

Arthur turned and swiftly left the room.

Nora set her fork down, a deep frown creasing her forehead. She knew Lawrence's return meant nothing but trouble. The peace they had was over.

But before the anxiety could fully settle in her chest, Hudson stood up and walked over to her, leaning down to press a soft kiss to her forehead. "I'm heading to the office, honey."

"...Okay."

After seeing Hudson off, Nora got into the car with Olive O'Neil to head to Star Entertainment.

Olive hummed a cheerful tune the entire drive, her good mood practically infectious.

She wove the car expertly through the morning rush-hour traffic.

Suddenly, a massive black SUV violently swerved into their lane from the right. The tires shrieked against the asphalt as the heavy vehicle cut directly across their bumper.

Olive's reflexes were instantaneous. She slammed the brakes and wrenched the steering wheel hard to the left. The car violently whipped around, narrowly missing the SUV's side panel, leaving thick black skid marks smoking on the road.

Nora was thrown violently forward, saved from smashing into the windshield only by her seatbelt locking up.

"What the hell!" Olive cursed loudly. "Are you out of your mind?!"

She stabilized the car, forcing herself to stay calm. Nora was in the passenger seat. She couldn't afford a road rage incident right now.
