Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 643

The words completely stunned Finnian. It took him several seconds to find his voice. "...Dad, what did you say?"

"Evangeline has been found."

Henry repeated it once more. "Fly back to Northampton right now. Bring Liana with you."

Finnian stood rooted to the spot, feeling all the blood rush to his head.

The sister he had been searching for over twenty years... the little Evie who only existed as a blurry silhouette in his memory...

She was found?

"How was she found... Why wasn't there any... any word about this earlier?"

"She found out her adoptive parents weren't her biological family, so she went to the police station to leave a DNA sample. The Northampton Chief of Police just called me personally. The DNA match is confirmed. She's my Evie..."

"Alright, I understand. I'm heading back immediately."

Seeing him hang up the phone, Jude couldn't wait any longer. "What did Mr. Fairchild say?"

"Evangeline has been found." Finnian's voice floated, as if he still believed he was dreaming.

Jude froze in place.

Evangeline was found...

That meant Nora was...

Jude instinctively clenched his fists. For some inexplicable reason, a wave of complicated, indescribable disappointment washed over him.

But DNA didn't lie.

Evangeline Fairchild had truly returned.

...

Meanwhile, the lobby of the Aspen Springs Hotel was bustling.

"You brat. You don't answer my calls, you don't reply to my texts. What? Have you decided you don't want to acknowledge your mentor anymore?"

Looking travel-worn and exhausted, Professor Douglas Campbell immediately launched into a tirade the moment he saw Hudson, who had come down to greet him. "Your professor has been flying all over the country working himself to the bone, and you're out here enjoying yourself at a hot spring hotel?!"

Hudson was completely used to Professor Campbell's abrasive greetings. He raised an eyebrow. "How about I book you a room, Professor, so you can take a dip in the springs too?"

"I'll dip your head in!"

Hudson chuckled, leading him to the lounge area. He poured a cup of hot tea and handed it over.

Professor Campbell took a sip before his expression turned serious. "I came all this way because I have something critical to discuss with you..."

Before he could finish, Hudson calmly interjected, "The Vanguard TBM Chip development?"

"Stop spouting nonsense. Don't try to pull a fast one on me."

Professor Campbell waved his hand dismissively, not believing a word of it. "Alright, alright, save the jokes. Go pack your bags. You're leaving with me."

Hudson offered a helpless smile. "Professor, I'm serious."

"Serious my ass! Stop wasting time!"

Just then, Jude walked briskly down the hallway. He had clearly heard the news of Professor Campbell's arrival. "Professor, why didn't you tell us you were coming?"

Professor Campbell turned to look at him, smiling. "I just had a layover. Good timing, Jude. Tell me, this brat just told me he's getting a divorce. Do you believe that?"

Jude's footsteps faltered. His gaze flicked toward Hudson for a split second before he fell silent. After a long pause, he finally spoke. "Professor... it's true."

The smile froze on Professor Campbell's face.

He looked back and forth between Hudson and Jude. Realizing they weren't joking, he slammed his teacup down, his face turning pale. "What happened? How did it escalate to this? Did you piss Nora off?"

That was his immediate assumption.

Hudson didn't elaborate. He simply stood up and smoothed his lapels. "Professor, I genuinely can't leave today. I'll attend the meeting in Northampton on time tomorrow afternoon."

Professor Campbell wanted to argue, but seeing the uncompromising look on Hudson's face, he swallowed his words.
