Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 756

"It's just acting..."

"Not even acting." Hudson cut her off smoothly. "I'll go talk to Elias myself..."

Nora interrupted him right back. "You just said you'd listen to me!"

"Except for this." Hudson began to act shamelessly without a shred of guilt.

Helpless, Nora could only warn him anxiously. "You can't do anything reckless. What if Elias absolutely refuses to give us the pill? We can't afford to burn this bridge..."

That pill was the only thing in the world that could save Hudson's life right now.

They couldn't afford to gamble with it.

Hudson let out a low laugh, his eyes narrowing thoughtfully. "I am starting to wonder why Elias is so fixated on making you honor an engagement with Jude, though. It's completely out of character for him..."

Could there be some hidden secret at play here that even he didn't know about?

Nora frowned in agreement. "Yeah, I think it's strange too..."

Logically speaking, she and Jude hadn't seen each other in over twenty years. They had zero emotional foundation.

"Right..." Hudson said, as if suddenly remembering something. He looked up at her, his gaze heavy with meaning. "Do you remember that scar on your lower back?"

Nora instinctively reached back to touch it. "Yes, what about it?"

Hudson's lips pressed together. "There might be something hidden inside it."

Nora froze. "...What do you mean?"

"The Ring Laser Gyro (RLG) technology your mother developed was never found..."

Nora's heart gave a violent skip. "You mean..."

"That technical data might be hidden on you."

Hudson's gaze dropped to the spot on her lower back. "Right inside that scar."

Nora sat there, completely stunned.

She opened her mouth, instinctively reaching back again to run her fingers over the scar.

Feeling the slight, hardened bump through the thin fabric of her clothes, she stared blankly for a long time before finally speaking. "You're saying... there's something inside this scar?"

"It's just a theory." Hudson's voice softened. "But do you remember the last time you went through the security scanner and the alarm suddenly went off? There might be a microchip inside..."

Nora's fingertips were still pressed against the scar, the bizarre sensation growing stronger by the second.

Ever since she was a child, she had felt that this scar was different from the others.

Other scars were flat, but this one had a tiny, hard lump beneath it. She had always thought it was just scar tissue, but now...
