Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 807

"Shit!"

Vincent cursed, staggering back another half-step. His ears were ringing, and his vision swam with bright sparks.

He had lived his entire life wrapped in luxury, born with a silver spoon, surrounded by elite security details since childhood. When he came of age, his overt guards were simply replaced by lethal shadows.

Getting his head busted open by a random thug was a spectacular first!

Nora was just as shocked.

She knew Hudson brought Vincent here to use his aristocratic status as a deterrent against the locals.

She never expected Leon's mob to be insane enough to actually smash a crowbar into someone's skull.

"Don't move, just sit down. Let me stop the bleeding..."

Nora hurriedly helped him drop into a crouch. She frantically dug a pack of tissues out of her pocket and pressed a wad against the gash. The pristine white paper instantly bloomed with a terrifying crimson stain.

Vincent winced, his face twisting in pain, but he forced a weak wave of his hand. "I'm fine... just a scratch."

At that moment, the rest of Hudson's elite security team surged from the shadows, joining Arthur and the others in the brawl.

It didn't take long for the violent instigators to be pinned brutally to the dirt. The rest of the villagers stood frozen in sheer terror, too terrified to even breathe, let alone swing a weapon.

"The cops are here!"

The wail of sirens pierced the air as two police cruisers slammed to a halt at the edge of the site. Several officers jumped out, pausing in shock at the carnage. When they recognized Vincent, the blood drained from their faces.

Captain Rhodes sprinted over, practically folding himself in half. "Lord Vincent! You're injured! Who did this?!"

Vincent clutched his bloody forehead, wincing as the pain spiked. He pointed a shaking finger at Leon. "Him. And those guys. Rioting and aggravated assault."

Captain Rhodes didn't hesitate. He waved furiously at his men. "Take them all down!"

As two officers dragged Leon roughly from the dirt, he thrashed wildly. "I didn't do anything! They attacked us first! It was self-defense!"

No one cared.
