Liana Fairchild knew Henry didn't have much affection for his biological daughter, Nora.
But she hadn't expected him to use Hudson to threaten her.
In his eyes, his biological daughter was just a pawn to be used at any moment.
What about her, then?
What was she in Henry's eyes?
Liana lowered her eyelashes, suppressing the sudden surge of emotion, and put her gentle, obedient expression back on.
It didn't matter.
Whatever she was to him, at least for now, Henry favored her over Nora.
That was her leverage.
Henry was the head of the Fairchild family. As long as he had her back, what did it matter if Nora was the true Fairchild heiress?
How could Nora possibly compete with her?
The Fairchild family was still Liana's domain!
While Liana's mind raced, the phone in Henry's pocket suddenly vibrated.
Glancing at the caller ID, Henry frowned slightly before answering.
"Hello?"
"Dad, is it a good time to talk?"
Hearing Finnian's distinctly low voice, Henry guessed what this was about.
"Yes. What is it?"
"Did you have anything to do with the Winslows?"
Henry frowned deeper. "Finnian, do you hear yourself? I know Elias Winslow is in the hospital, but why would you suspect me? I'm in Australia right now, thousands of miles away. How could it be me?"
