Sebastian yanked out his phone, his thumbs flying across the screen as he texted Grant Hamilton.

[Grant! Get your ass down here right now. Absolute emergency!]

Grant replied instantly: [???]

Too wired to type, Sebastian held down the voice memo button. "Hudson actually brought Jade to the club! Get down here before I lose my mind!"

Less than three seconds later, Grant's name flashed across the screen with an incoming call.

"Are you high?" Grant's voice barked through the speaker. "He brought who?"

"Jade Reed! His actual wife!"

There was a heavy pause on the line before Grant let out a loud, scoffing laugh. "The useless, spoiled brat? Hudson actually brought her out in public? Hold my drink, I'm on my way!"

Hanging up, Sebastian slowly sank into the armchair opposite Hudson. He tried to act casual, but his eyes kept magnetically drifting back to Nora.

She sat so perfectly still, the simple act of drinking a glass of water looking effortlessly regal. She looked like a masterpiece painted by a master artist.

Hudson caught him staring. His dark eyes flicked up, pinning Sebastian with a look so cold and territorial that Sebastian nearly choked on his spit. He quickly broke eye contact, grabbing his whiskey and taking a massive gulp to hide his terror.

"So, Hudson," Sebastian started, treading very carefully. "Your wife... she really doesn't fit the rumors, does she?"

"Rumors?" Hudson raised an arrogant eyebrow. "What rumors?"

Sebastian opened his mouth, then violently snapped it shut, deciding he liked being alive.

"Never mind. Absolutely nothing."

Ten minutes later, the heavy mahogany doors were thrown open with a loud bang.

Grant Hamilton swaggered into the room, his signature playboy smirk firmly in place. "Hudson, my man!" he shouted, his eyes eagerly scanning the room. "I heard you brought the legendary nightmare herself! Where is she? Let me get a look at this—"

His words died in his throat.

His eyes locked onto the woman sitting quietly beside Hudson.
