Luna’s POV

I was starving, and apparently, my stomach had chosen the absolute worst possible moment to remind me of that fact. vecond the silence settled between Theo his mother and me, my stomach let out a loud growl that sounded embarrass mough to echo through the entire hallway. The sound was so sudden and so loud that I froze completely in horror. For painful second. I genuinely wished the floor under me would crack open and swallow me whole so I could disappear

could feel my face heating up immediately, and I avoided looking at either of them because I already knew how umiliating that had been. Out of everyone in the world, why did my stomach have to betray me in front of Theo’s errifyingly beautiful mother?
Thankfully, instead of reacting badly, she suddenly laughed softly It was not a mocking laugh like the kind Theo usually gave me. Hers sounded lighter and calmer, almost amused in a harmless way
Well,” she said smoothly. “I suppose introductions can wait. You must be starving.”
awkwardly cleared my throat while wishing my body would stop embarrassing me every five minutes around this fami A little,” I admitted quietly.
Theo’s mother smiled faintly before turning around. “Then you should join us for lunch.”
immediately looked at Theo without meaning to, almost hoping he would somehow save me from this situation, but to urprise, he looked just as trapped as I felt. Ever since his mother appeared, he had become strangely quiet. The confiden and playful Theo who had spent the entire ride teasing me and laughing at everything I said had almost completely lisappeared. He was still standing beside me, but his entire energy had changed.
could not decide if Theo was afraid of his mother or if werewolves just had some strange thing about respecting their parents to an extreme level. Whatever the reason was, being caught between the two of them already felt uncomfortable
nough, and now I had to survive lunch with them too.
Still, refusing would probably make things awkward, so I forced a small smile on my face. “Thank you.”
Theo’s mother nodded once before turning around and leading the way, while Theo quietly motioned for me to follow >eside him. As we walked through the massive hallways of the packhouse, I kept glancing around because everything sal ooked unreal to me. The place was enormous. Every hallway looked expensive enough to belong inside a palace rather tha
home, and every single person we passed immediately stopped what they were doing to bow their heads respectfully oward Theo and his mother.
‘Alpha.”
‘Luna.”
Welcome back, Alpha Theo.”
We eventually arrived at a massive dining room that also looked bigger than the entire apartrent my mother and I lived in The table alone was ridiculously long and cleaned so perfectly that I could almost see my reflection in it. Large windows surrounded the room letting sunlight pour inside, and everything from the chairs to the decorations screamed money
Theo naturally walked toward the head of the table before pulling out the chan beside him slightly and nodding toward it
“Sit here.”
1 hesitated for a second before sitting down quietly Directly opposite me sat Theo’s mother, and the moment she settled elegantly into her chair, I suddenly felt like I was in some kind of interview instead of lunch

The servants standing around the room immediately moved into action.
“Bring lunch,” Theo’s mother instructed calmly.
The servants bowed their heads slightly before disappearing from the room.
The second they left, Theo finally spoke again. “Where’s Dad?”
His mother looked completely calm as she answered, “Resting.”
Theo only nodded silently, and the room briefly became quiet again before her attention shifted back toward me. curious look in her eyes instantly made me nervous.
“So,” she began smoothly, “which one of your parents is the werewolf?”
I blinked at her in complete surprise. For a second, I genuinely did not know how to respond because I had not exp that question at all. More importantly, I had not expected her to somehow figure out I was only half werewolf so qu
“How did you know?” I asked before I could stop myself.
Theo’s mother chuckled softly, almost like the answer were obvious. “It isn’t difficult to tell,” she replied. “Now answ question. Which parent was the werewolf?”
I swallowed awkwardly before answering honestly. “My father.”
‘And your mother is human?”
I nodded slowly. “Yes.”
She hummed thoughtfully before going quiet for a moment. “Do you know which pack your father came rom
I frowned slightly in confusion. “No.”
Theo’s mother leaned back slightly in her chair while still studying me carefully. “Your went is very worden whe explained calmly. “That usually means your bloodline comes from one of the smaller Northern packs
I stared at her blankly because honestly, half the things she said sounded confusing to ine ind it even m spparently reveal geographical locations now.
Before I could ask what she meant. Theo suddenly spoke up sharply beside me
