Luna’s POV
I mentally decided not to ask Theo why he had referred to me as his soon–to–be Luna in front of those girls because ! already knew exactly what he was going to say, and honestly. I did not have the energy to hear it. Theo had this very annoying habit of speaking as though everything had already been decided, like the fact that we were mates automatically meant I was going to eventually fall into his arms and accept whatever future he imagined for us.
The worst part was that he said those things with so much confidence that it was hard to tell if he was simply arrogant or if he genuinely believed fate had already sealed everything for us. Either way, I refused to entertain it. I had absolutely no intention of becoming anyone’s Luna. Not Theo’s, not Jace’s, and definitely not the Luna of some werewolf pack hidden in the middle of nowhere.
I was still busy trying to ignore the uncomfortable feeling sitting in my chest when Theo suddenly snapped me out of my thoughts by asking, “So, what do you want first? A tour around the packhouse or do you want to ineet my parents first?”
I immediately let out a tired sigh before looking at him with disbelief. “At what point does food come into this plan?” I asked him. “Because I haven’t eaten anything all day, Theo, and right now I’m starving.”
To my surprise, he looked genuinely shocked by what I said, like the idea of me skipping meals somehow offended him personally. “You haven’t eaten all day?” he asked quickly, his brows pulling together slightly before he immediately added. “You should’ve told me that earlier. I’ll have the kitchen prepare something for you right now.”
His response made me pause for a second before I frowned slightly and lowered my voice a little. “Wait,” I said carefully. “The people here eat normal people food, right? It’s not like I’m about to be served raw meat and expected to eat it because I’m technically a werewolf now?”
For one second, Theo simply stared at me, and then the next thing I knew, he burst into loud laughter, and not just normal laughter either. He laughed so hard that his shoulders shook, and the sound echoed through the hallway loudly enough to draw the attention of the few people walking around nearby. I/immediately looked around awkwardly while staring at him in confusion because I genuinely could not understand what I had said that was so funny.
Theo continued laughing like I had just told the greatest joke in human history, and honestly, the more he laughed, the more confused I became. At some point, I even started wondering if maybe I had accidentally said something incredibly stupid without realizing it.
“What exactly is wrong with you?” I finally asked him when I could not take his ridiculous laughing anymore. “Are you sure you haven’t gone mad?”
That only seemed to amuse him more, although eventually his laughter slowly started calming downHe shook his head while looking at me with this strange expression on his face before suddenly lifting one of his hands and stroking my check softly.
The sudden contact caught me off guard so badly that I instinctively recoiled a little. Theo, however, simply leaned doser. lowering himself slightly so that his face was closer to mine while his fingers continued brushing lightly against my cheek His green eyes stayed fixed directly on mine, and for some strange reason, the teasing look in them softened a hule.
“You’re actually so cute,” he murmured.
I immediately slapped his hand away before glaring at him. “Stop avoiding my question.” I complained Am I going to have to eat raw meat or not? Because I did research, okay? Wolves eat raw meat
Theo laughed again, although this time it was quieter. “Luna,” he said while shaking his head at me. I promise nobody is going to force you to eat raw meal. We eat normal food too You’re still basically human, just with a wolf attached to you
now.”

#narrowed my eyes suspiciously “Just basically human?”
“Okay, traybe not just basically be corrected with a grin. “But you get what I mean”
I honestly did not get what he meant at all. but before I could even ask another question. Theo continued speaking
“And for the record.” he added, “yes, there actually are wolves who like raw meat.”
I immediately stared at him in horror. “You people are disgusting.”
That only made him grin wider. “Relax. I’ll make sure the kitchen prepares something you can eat without traumatizing yourself.”
I crossed my arms while staring at him suspiciously because at this point, I genuinely could not tell when Theo was joking and when he was serious. I was just about to ask him if werewolves really transformed and hunted animals in the forest like actual wolves when suddenly a woman’s voice interrupted us.
‘Do I have to find out that you’ve arrived from the servants, son?”
Both Theo and I immediately turned toward the voice, and the moment my eyes landed on the woman walking toward us. I nearly gasped out loud.
The woman was stunning.
That was honestly the first thing that entered my mind as I stared at her. She had long blonde hair that looked almost identical to Theo’s, except hers fell in soft waves around her shoulders. Her features were sharp and elegant, and she carried herself with the kind of effortless confidence that made everyone around her seem smaller somehow. Even the way she walked looked graceful. She was wearing a cream–colored dress that looked expensive enough to pay my rent for several months, and there was something about her presence that immediately made the atmosphere around us feel heavier.
The resemblance between her and Theo was honestly terrifying, the same eyes, the same shade of blonde hair, and the same unfairly attractive face.
If someone told me Theo copied his entire appearance from his mother, I would have believed them immediately, but what surprised me more than her beauty was Theo’s reaction the moment he saw her.
I had expected him to look happy or relaxed after seeing his mother, especially since we had literally just arrived at his home, but instead, I noticed something completely different across his face. The playful teasing expression he had been wearing disappeared almost instantly, and for the first time since I met him, Theo actually looked… uncomfortable, not scared exactly, but definitely uncomfortable.
His shoulders stiffened slightly, and the relaxed grin he usually carried faded into something fat inofe restrained. Even the air around him felt different suddenly, and I found myself staring at him in confusion because this was not the same Theo who spent half his time flirting and annoying me just for fun.
The woman stopped in front of us and crossed her arms elegantly while raising one perfectly shaped brow at him “Well” she asked. “Were you planning on greeting your mother at all, Theodore?”
Theodore.
I almost blinked at the name because hearing someone call him that felt strange Theo immediately sighed softly before rubbing the back of his neck.
“Hello, Mother,” he said.
The woman narrowed her eyes slightly. “That’s all I get after you disappear for months?”

I immediately looked between them awkwardly because it felt like I was accidentally witnessing some kind of family argument that I definitely was not supposed to be part of. The tension between them was subtle, but it was there, and even someone as clueless as me could feel it.
