Chapter 110

Luna’s POV

I was sitting on Ivy’s bed with my legs stretched out in front of me while Ivy sat cross-legged opposite me, looking far more excited than any normal person should have been. Honestly, she looked like she had just discovered the greatest source of entertainment in the world, and unfortunately for me, that source of entertainment happened to be my personal life.

After the ridiculous day I had just survived, the last thing I wanted to do was sit around discussing five different men, but judging from the sparkle in Ivy’s eyes, there was absolutely no escaping this conversation. She leaned forward slightly. studying me with a look that immediately made me suspicious. I already knew she was planning something before she even opened her mouth.

“Luna, just tell me the truth,” she said. “Out of all five of your mates, you have a favorite, right? And don’t even think about denying it. You literally admitted that you were jealous when you saw Ryder with another girl. If you can get jealous over Ryder, then you obviously like him at least a little bit, which means there’s a chance you like the others too.”

I immediately rolled my eyes and let out a groan. It amazed me how Ivy always managed to reach conclusions that made perfect sense to her while making absolutely no sense to me. Resting my head against the wall behind me, I crossed my arms and stared at her like she had completely lost her mind.

“You’re the one who knows all this werewolf stuff,” I said. “Shouldn’t you know that everything I’m feeling is because of this stupid mate bond? I barely know any of these guys. I don’t even know something as simple as what they like to eat. I don’t know what movies they like. I don’t know what they do when they’re bored. I don’t know the most basic information about most of them. So how exactly am I supposed to like them? That makes no sense.”

Ivy shook her head slowly before letting out a dramatic sigh. The look she gave me made me feel like I was missing something obvious. Instead of agreeing with me like I expected, she tilted her head slightly and stared at me with the kind of expression teachers gave students when they answered a simple question incorrectly.

Has anyone ever told you that you’re way too serious?” she asked.

I frowned immediately. “What does that even mean?”

It means exactly what I said,” Ivy replied. “You overthink everything, every single thing. Sometimes feelings don’t need a scientific explanation, and sometimes they just exist. You’re treating this like some complicated math problem that needs solving when it really doesn’t. Just stop overthinking for one second and be honest with yourself.”

I stared at her for several seconds without responding. The annoying thing was that Ivy looked completely convinced she was right. She wasn’t even joking anymore. She genuinely believed that I was refusing to admit something to myself Meanwhile, I was trying to figure out how she had somehow become the relationship expert betweeqthe two of us when she doesn’t even date seriously.

“Regardless of the mate bond, Ivy continued, “your feelings are still your feelings. As far as I know, the bond might make things stronger, but it doesn’t create things out of nowhere, so trust me, that jealousy wasn’t just because of your bond to him. Without overthinking it, just tell me if you like one of them more than the others.”

I let out another sigh and rubbed my forehead. I was already regretting telling her about seeing Ryder with that girl. It had just kept my mouth shut, I wouldn’t be stuck in this interrogation. “I honestly don’t feel like I like any of them more than the others,” I said. “And even if I wanted to rank them, I have nothing to base it on. Again, I barely know them.”

Ivy rolled her eyes so hard that I was surprised they didn’t get stuck. She looked completely unimpressed by my answer and clearly wasn’t planning on accepting it. Knowing her, she probably wouldn’t stop asking questions until she got something she could work with.

“Fine,” Ivy said. “Let’s make it easier. Forget personalities, forget about feelings, forget everything else, and start with looks. If

you had to rank them based purely on appearance, who would be your favorite?”

I immediately groaned again, not even surprised that she would ask that. The worst part was that I knew she wasn’t going to let this go until I answered, and looking at her cager expression, I realized there was absolutely no escape. She was going to sit here all night if she had to

After a long moment of silence, I finally gave in. “All five of them are annoyingly attractive, I admitted. “Honestly, it’s hard to rank them because they all look completely different, but before all of this happened, I always thought simple-looking guys would be more my type. So if we’re only talking about appearance, Orion would probably rank first.”

Ivy immediately perked up like she had just discovered valuable information.

“Don’: make that face,” I warned.

“I’m not making a face,” she replied, though she was absolutely making a face.

“You’re making a face.”

Ivy grinned shamelessly.

I sighed before continuing. “Orion is just… simple, not boring, but he’s simple. He doesn’t look like he’s trying to attract attention every second of the day. He looks the most normal even though he’s far from average.”

“Unlike Theo?” Ivy asked.

I pointed at her. “Exactly unlike Theo.”

That earned a laugh from her.

As for Knox,” I continued, “he ranks last.”

Ivy looked surprised. “Really?”

“Yes, really,” I replied. “He’s intimidating, and every time I look at him, I feel like he’s silently judging me. I don’t even know if he’s actually judging me, but that’s the feeling I get.”

Ivy laughed harder.

I threw her a glare. “It’s not funny.”

She shrugged ‘It kind of is.”

I ignored her “As for Ryder, Jace, and Theo, they’re all attractive in different ways Ryder has that athlete thing, going for him. Theo looks like he knows he’s attractive and reminds everyone every five minutes Jace Thesitated briefly “Jace is just Jace They’re all different, so I can’t rank them”

Ivy nodded thoughtfully as she processed everything I had just said For a moment, I thought the unterrogation was finally over, but unfortunately, I should have known better Ivy wasn’t the type to stop when things started getting interesting

“Okay, she said ‘Now let’s make it harder

I immediately groaned

“Now that you’ve ranked them by appearance, rank them by interest,’ she suggested

I blinked Interest?”

Ves, Ivy replied, Who has interested you the most since you met them?”

I rolled my eyes and looked away. This question was much worse than the first one. Ranking appearances was easy. Ranking interest meant actually thinking about them, and that was exactly what I was trying not to do.

The problem was that once I started thinking, it became difficult to stop.

Knox immediately came to mind first, mostly because he was the easiest to rank. I barely knew him compared to the others On top of that, he had told me he was gay. Sure, Ivy had basically informed me that Knox clearly wasn’t as uninterested in women as he claimed, but it didn’t change the fact that he remained the biggest mystery out of all of them. Every conversation with him felt like he was hiding half of what he really wanted to say. Because of that, Knox naturally ended up at the bottom of the list.

Then my thoughts drifted to Theo, and I frowned slightly.

Today’s date had definitely changed some of my opinions about him. I had seen a different side of him. I had seen him with his mother, I had seen moments where his smile seemed more genuine than usual, and I had seerr hints of sadness that I hadn’t expected, but even after all that, I still couldn’t completely trust him. There was always this strange feeling that I wasn’t seeing everything like he was hiding pieces of himself behind a carefully crafted mask.

Then there was Ryder, and the memory of seeing that girl in his car immediately resurfaced. Annoyingly, my chest tightened again, and I hated that.

I hated that it bothered me, and I hated that I couldn’t fully explain why it bothered me.

Ryder was probably the easiest person to understand. He wasn’t complicated or particularly mysterious. He was loud, straightforward, and protective, and being the first I interacted with, he was ridiculous. From my observation, what you saw was exactly what you got with him. Maybe that was why I found him easier to be around than some of the others.

My thoughts moved to Orion next, and honestly, Orion was difficult.

Before everything happened with Jace, I had thought of him as the sweet one, the calm one, and the quiet one. Then I saw what happened after he found out about the marking. I saw the anger, I saw the jealousy, and I saw how dangerous he could become when pushed far enough. Strangely, that hadn’t made me dislike him. If anything, it made him feel more real.

With how jealous I feel whenever I remember Ryder with that girl, I could somehow understand Orion’s anger over Jace marking me.

Speaking of Jace, the moment I thought about him, I felt myself frown. Jace was still the hardest one to understand

I couldn’t explain how I felt about him because I wasn’t entirely sure myself Through the mark, I had occasionally telt flashes of emotions that didn’t belong to me that day with him. Guilt, responsibility, frustration sadifess, and determination More than anything else, I had realized that Jace must have spent most of his lite carrying burdens by himselt. He seemed used to holding things in and pretending he was fine even when he clearly wasn’t.

The more I learned about him, the more questions I had

Without realizing it, I became completely lost in my own thoughts The room faded away, the conversation with Ivy disappeared, and time seemed to pass without me noticing The only thing that finally dragged me back to reality was 4 hand suddenly appearing directly in front of my lace with a loud snap

I blinked, and Ivy was staring at me
