Chapter 61

Luna’s POV

I was still shaking with anger by the time I got back to the room. My steps were loud, careless, and rushed, like I was trying to outrun the thoughts in my head, even though they followed me anyway. I didn’t even bother closing the door quietly behind me. I pushed it open harder than I needed to, walked in like I was on a mission, and only stopped when I reached the middle of the room. My chest was rising and falling fast, my hands clenched into fists at my sides, and my mind kept replaying what had just happened over and over again.

It wasn’t until I heard a soft movement from the bed that I remembered that Ivy had been asleep. I froze for a second, blinking like I had just snapped back into reality, and when I turned my head, I saw her sitting up slowly, her hair messy and her eyes half open. She looked confused and a little worried at the same time, like she didn’t know what she had just woken up to, but she could tell something wasn’t right.

“What happened?” she asked in a sleepy voice, rubbing her eyes as she looked at me.

For a second, I just stood there, staring at her, wondering if I should even say anything. She looked so tired, like she had barely gotten any rest, and a small part of me felt bad for waking her up. I thought about just telling her to go back to sleep and leaving it at that, but the anger sitting inside me refused to stay quiet.

“What happened?” Ivy asked again, this time more awake, her brows pulling together as she studied my face. “Luna, you’re scaring me. Why do you look like that?”

I let out a slow breath, dragging a hand down my face before speaking. “I almost had sex with Theo.”

The words came out so fast and so blunt that even I was a little shocked by how easily I said them. For a second, the room went completely silent, and Ivy just stared at me like she hadn’t heard me properly.

“What?” she asked, her voice suddenly fully awake now.

“I said,” I repeated, my face heating up a little now that I had actually said it out loud. “I almost had sex with that jerk called Theo, and I would have if Ryde
