Chapter 87
Luna’s POV

As soon as the cab stopped in front of the girls‘ dormitory, I quickly opened the door and stepped outside before the driv could even fully turn around to look at me again. I still felt awkward sitting in the car after everything that had happened the last twenty four hours, and honestly, my brain still had not fully caught up with my life anymore.
One minute I had been a normal university student trying to survive Blackridge, and now suddenly I was apparently a werewolf with five mates, a talking wolf in my head, and a mark on my neck from mating with one of them. Just thinking about it too deeply made me want to lie down somewhere and stay there forever I let out a breath before reaching into n pocket for the money Jace had lent me earlier and handed it over to the driver. Once he drove away, I stood there for a second staring at the dorm building while trying to mentally prepare myself before finally starting to walk toward the
entrance.
Jace had offered to bring me back himself, but there had been absolutely no chance of me agreeing to that. My reputation around campus was already bad enough without people seeing me arriving at the girls‘ dormitory in Jace Callahan’s car looking like I had spent the night with him. Even though technically that was exactly what happened. I still did not need t entire school discussing it before noon.
The rumors about me had already spread enough after the party, and now people already acted like I was some desperate new student throwing herself at every attractive football player she came across. The annoying part was that no matter he much I hated it, I also knew there was no avoiding the football team anymore. They were literally my mates. Unfortunate for me, fate apparently had a very sick sense of humor.
Still, I wanted to delay the gossip becoming worse for as long as possible. If Jace had brought me here personally and someone posted it on the school blog, people would turn the story into something even more ridiculous than it already w Worse, Coach Ramirez would definitely hear about it somehow because the man seemed to hear everything. The coach already barely tolerated me as it was, and if he even suspected that the reason I missed training had something to do with boy, especially someone like Jace, he would kick me off the team so quickly that I would not even have time to explain myself.
At least right now, I still had the option of pretending I had been sick or making up some other excuse that had nothing to do with men. I honestly hated lying, but compared to losing my scholarship and getting kicked out of Blackridge, yang suddenly seemed very reasonable.
By the time I reached the third floor, my body already felt exhausted again. I was not even sure it the exhaustion w physical or mental anymore. Probably both. Everything about the last day had drained me completely, and all egy wanted was to throw myself into bed and sleep for ten years. When I fly reached room 312, I grabbed the have wad pushed the door open, thankfully without needing a key because Ivy, as usual, had not bothered locking it Yomenines? genuinely wondered how she survived living in a dorm while having absolutely no survival misting o
I stepped into the room expecting silence since Ivy was supposed to have class this moung but to my surprise was lying on her bed asleep One of her pillows was halfway on the floor and her blanks was targlest assunte y se had fought somebody in her sleep I quietly closed the door behind me, but the wound sull woke Not up univeliainy Nitre she only stirred slightly and looked confused, but the moment her eyes fully focused on me she sat up to gun kit that I almost laughed

Before I could even say anything. Ivy rushed toward me at full speed unt umeshately started bombarding me with questions so quickly that my ured brain struggled to keep up
“How are you? Are you okay? Did anything happen? Were you hurt Did they help you Want why do you look, xhausted Are you sick? Did your wolf do something weird again: Were you in pain? Did you deep vall

But she ignored me completely. Instead, she grabbed my shoulders and physically turned me around while inspectin like she expected to find missing limbs somewhere. Honestly, the whole thing was so dramatic that I could not stop m from chuckling again despite how tired I felt.
“You don’t have to be this dramatic,” I told her.
She immediately frowned at me. “I’m not being dramatic.”
“Yes, you are.”
‘No, I’m worried,” she corrected while still checking me over carefully. “Do you hate any idea how stressed I’ve been? barely slept all night.”
That made me pause slightly.
vy sighed before stepping back a little. “I was seriously thinking of going back to the house,” she admitted. “I almost di wice actually, but Jace told me it would be better for me to stay away for a while, so I forced myself to stay back”
The moment she mentioned Jace’s name, my stupid brain immediately decided to remind me of him shirtless and of >ruised in his office earlier. I quickly shoved the thought away before my face could betray me.
vy was still staring at me with obvious concern. “I just… I was really worried you’d be in too much pain.” she admitted i quietly this time.
let out a tired sigh before dropping my borrowed bag near my bed. “Honestly,” I muttered while rubbing the back of n eck awkwardly, “pain wasn’t really the main issue.”
The second those words left my mouth, Ivy’s expression changed immediately. Her brows slowly furrowed, and suddeni he looked way too observant for my comfort.
What does that mean?” she asked slowly.
blinked innocently. “What does what mean?”
You know exactly what.”
pretended not to understand while walking toward my bed, but Ivy clearly was not buying the act at all. Her eyes ar uspiciously before slowly trailing upward toward my neck. At first I shd it even realize what she was looking state noment her eyes widened dramatically, my stomach dropped.

Before I could react, she grabbed my arm and turned my face properly toward the light away the window recovey loved into the side of my neck immediately and then she gasped loudly coough that almost unpest

I rubbed my forehead tiredly. “Can you stop saying it like that?”
“But Luna!” Ivy almost squealed while staring at me with wide eyes. “That’s literally a mate mark
“Yes,” I muttered dryly. “I noticed.”
Her eyes widened even more somehow. “Wait… which one did it?”
I immediately looked away, and that alone answered the question for her.
Her jaw dropped. “No way.”
still refused to look at her.

Thankfully, Ivy lowered her voice slightly after that, though she still looked painfully excited. “How did it even happen al sked immediately.
