I had already finished explaining everything that happened to Ivy, and by the time I was done talking, my throat hone felt dry from how much I had spoken. I was sitting cross–legged on my bed while Ivy sat opposite me on hers with the of expression people usually had when they had just finished watching the final episode of some insane drama series.
Her eyes were wide, her mouth slightly open, and every now and then she would shake her head slowly like she still co not believe half the things I had told her. To be fair, if someone else had sat me down two weeks ago and said half the t I was telling her, I would have laughed in their face and asked what kind of nonsense movie they had been watching.
The room stayed quiet for a few seconds after I finished talking, and honestly, I was hoping Ivy would let the topic die f least five minutes because I was mentally exhausted. Unfortunately for me, Ivy was Ivy, and silence was clearly not something she could tolerate for too long. She suddenly leaned forward on the bed before asking me if I was going to s dating Jace now or if I was still planning to wait and choose between the other guys later.
I stared at her so hard that my eyebrows slowly pulled together in disbelief. “What in the world are you talking about?” | asked her immediately, genuinely confused by where her mind had even gone. “Does everybody you sleep with automatically become your boyfriend or something?”
Ivy rolled her eyes so dramatically that I almost laughed despite myself. “Of course not,” she replied quickly while wavir ɔne hand around like I had completely missed the point she was trying to make. “But this situation is different, and you know it’s different. Jace isn’t just some random guy you hooked up with. He’s your mate, your soulmate, technically. Tha mark on your neck isn’t just decoration, Luna. Being marked by your mate is practically the werewolf version of some eternal blood oath between lovers.”
I immediately frowned at her words because hearing it phrased like that made the whole thing sound even more serious han it already felt in my head. I reached up subconsciously and touched the mark on my neck again, still not fully used t he fact that it was there in the first place. Even now, every time my fingers brushed against it, I remembered waking up >utside with Jace beside me, both of us naked, both of us horrified and confused, and the memory still made heat crawi u ny neck embarrassingly fast.
‘I don’t care how it works,” I muttered stubbornly while dropping my hand back to my lap. “Jace and I are definitely net a elationship. I’m not interested in a relationship right now with anybody. I already have enough things to focus on withou adding five emotionally unstable football players into the mix.”
vy just shook her head slowly at me like she pitied how clueless I was being. “Luna,” she said in the same tone props and when they were trying to explain something obvious to a child, “you’ve tasted the forbidden fruit now. There’s so going back after that. You can keep pretending all you want, but one time is never enough, and honestly Neither is one La
”
My eyes widened immediately. “Wait,” I blurted out before she could continue talking nonsese Are y eventually going to sleep with the others too? And get marked by all of them
Before Ivy could even open her mouth to answer me, another voice responded itse

Immediately, Ivy blinked at me in surprise. “Did I say something offensive?” she asked quickly while looking genuinely concerned now.
It took me a second to realise that I had actually groaned out loud instead of only reacting internally like I meant to 1 rubbed my face tiredly before shaking my head. “No.” replied quickly. “No, you didn’t. Just ignore me
Ivy narrowed her eyes suspiciously at me, but thankfully, she decided not to push further about the random noise I had made. Honestly, trying to explain that my wolf and I were currently arguing in my head would only make this conversation even weirder than it already was.
I leaned back slightly against the wall behind my bed before sighing deeply. “I really don’t think I have the emotional strength for this kind of thing.” I admitted honestly while staring at the ceiling. “One guy alone is already stressful enough. Five? That sounds like the beginning of some terrible reality show, and I already know that if I get too involved with any of hem, everything is going to become chaotic.”
vy looked completely unconcerned by my obvious distress. In fact, she actually looked amused. “Well, it’s too late to worry bout chaos now,” she said with a shrug. “You’re already in too deep. At this point, you should just prepare yourself mentally and accept your destiny. Some girls dream about having one hot boyfriend while you somehow end up with five idiculously attractive men obsessing over you.”
