Chapter 92
Luna’s POV
I could feel Ivy’s eyes following me around the room as I got dressed, and honestly, it was starting to irritate me a little. Every time I moved, whether it was to pull my jeans up properly or smooth down my shirt in front of the mirror, I could practically feel her staring holes into the back of my head. She had been unusually quiet for the last few minutes too, which somehow made things worse because Ivy was rarely ever quiet unless she was holding herself back from saying something dramatic. Even without needing to ask, I already knew she was dying to comment on something, but for once in her life, she was trying to restrain herself.
Unfortunately for her, she was a terrible actress.
Letting out a frustrated sigh, I finally turned away from the mirror to face her properly. She was sitting at the edge of her bed with her legs crossed, watching me so intensely that it almost looked like she was studying me for an exam. The second our eyes met, I narrowed mine suspiciously before speaking.
‘If you have something to say, Ivy, just say it already,” I told her flatly. “Stop staring at me like I committed a crime.”
mmediately, her face brightened in a way that told me she had truly been waiting for permission to open her mouth. She at up straighter on the bed before asking, “Just to confirm… you are getting dressed to go on a date with Theo, right?”
stared at her blankly for a second before nodding slowly. “Yes, I am,” I answered. “How many times exactly do you want me o repeat myself?”
nstead of responding immediately, Ivy let out a strange dry chuckle that sounded almost nervous, and suddenly. I did not ike where this conversation was going at all. She looked me up and down again before asking carefully, “So… you’re really going on a date dressed like that?”
blinked at her in confusion. “Like what?”
She gestured vaguely at my entire body. “That.”
immediately looked down at myself, confused about what exactly was wrong with my appearance. I was wearing clean eans, my favorite blue shirt, and sneakers. To me, that seemed perfectly fine. In fact, I had even put more effort to Lay appearance than I normally did. Usually, I just grabbed the first thing available and rushed out the door because honest did not care enough to spend time obsessing over clothes.
Today was already different enough.
The blue shirt I was wearing was actually special to me because it had been expensive by my stagula Deinesibied buying it months ago after finally saving enough money from work to spoil myself a little hardly ever spent mac clothes unless I absolutely needed to, so buying that shirt had genuinely felt like a luxus at the time I was new of pieces of clothing I owned that made me feel slightly nicer than usual

I had even taken the time to deal properly with my hair instead of doing what Lalways did, which was agressively brudung it back, tying it into a bun, and moving on with my life My curls were loose now seiter around in shore is and be texts that alone already felt like too much effort for me
So naturally, I was confused
“What exactly is wrong with how I look? Lasked her slowly
Ivy shook her head dramatically before sighing Nothing is wrong with how you look she clarthed quickly
Luna That’s not the issue. The issue is that you look like you’re about to go nterview for a job at delt sic af of going cat 3

stared at her, then looked back at myself in the mirror again, and then back at her.
“Is it really that bad?” I asked uncertainly.
“Well…” Ivy winced slightly. Not terrible. Just… not date–worthy.”

I frowned at her words while crossing my arms over my chest. “What exactly is a date–worthy outfit supposed to look like:”
She looked horrified that I even needed to ask. “Something softer,” she said immediately. “Something cute. Something that doesn’t scream ‘I can carry boxes for a living.”
I looked down at myself again in disbelief. “I do not look like I carry boxes for a living.”
“You absolutely do.”
‘That’s rude.”
‘It’s true.”
I let out another long sigh while rubbing my forehead tiredly. Honestly, I already regretted agreeing to this stupid date in he first place. The entire thing still felt ridiculous to me. Theo practically forced me into agreeing by holding Coach Ramirez over my head, and now somehow I was standing in my dorm room being criticized over my clothes like I was ɔreparing for a fashion competition instead of spending a day with an irritating football player who enjoyed stressing me out for fun.
vy suddenly leaned forward excitedly. “Don’t you at least own one dress?”
mmediately, I made a face of disgust.
‘A dress?” I repeated that like she had suggested I wear a clown costume. “I’m an athlete, Ivy. I spend most of my time raining, running, or working. At what point exactly was I supposed to become a dress person?”
vy rolled her eyes so hard that I was honestly surprised they did not disappear into the back of her skull. “Being athletic doesn’t mean you have to dress like somebody’s exhausted older brother all the time.”
I pointed at myself immediately. “Excuse you, I look good.”
You look practical and, dare I say, simple.”
I rolled. “That’s basically the same thing. Simple is good.”
‘In this case, it’s not.”
I groaned softly before turning back toward the mirror again. The more she talked, the more self–conscious she was making me feel, which was annoying because I had originally felt perfectly fine before she opened her mouth. Now suddenly I was overthinking my jeans and wondering if Theo would think I looked ridiculous, not that I cared what theo thought
At least, that was what I kept trying to tell myself.
Behind me, Ivy suddenly Jimbed off the bed before walking toward her closet “Okay, she said determinedly. “New plan
I immediately narrowed my eyes suspiciously. “I don’t like the sound of that
Ignoring me completely, she opened her closet doors and started digging through her clothes. “Would you be withing to wear a dress if I lent you one?” she asked while throwing hangers around.

stared at her like she had genuinely lost her mind. “A dress,” ! repeated slowly again.
“Yes, Luna A dress is something that girls wear all the time. They’re not impractical or scary.”
I folded my arms tighter while watching her suspiciously. “Depends on the dress.
Ivy gasped dramatically like she had just achieved something major. “So that’s not a no!”
‘It’s not a yes either,” I corrected immediately, but honestly, part of me aiready knew I was losing this battle.
