(Alaric’s POV)
"Mr. Everests, I can’t tell how ecstatic Red Stone is to have someone of your grandeur here. The professors, the students, everyone will be so thrilled to see you," the middle aged, friendly guy, who introduced himself as Zachary Johnson a few moments ago, rambled, his voice way too excited for my liking. "I was really surprised to get Secretary Chris Shadow’s call this morning about your surprise visit to our university."
Pressing my lips together, I gave him my most curt smile as I recalled my motive to actually come here. If Dion is adamant about coming here and teaching the students during our stay, then I will be near him and make sure that he doesn’t run into any kind of trouble. And by trouble I meant~ ...
My chain of thoughts was broken by Zachary’s words as he said, "It’s time now." Saying this, I saw him walk away to the stage. His bubbly, exuberant voice echoed from the microphone as he introduced himself and interacted with the crowd.
Meanwhile, I waited patiently behind the stage, but my wolf forced his way into my mind, breaking the peace. His voice was laced with no less exuberance, and I knew the exact reason why the fuck he was so excited, ’The same place as our mate. The same air as our mate. Under the same roof as our mate,’ he commented in a shrill voice. Sometimes, I doubt whether he really is a Lycan wolf or a lovesick, acapella poet dressed in a burly wolf’s skin.
I refrained from saying anything to this sick wolf of mine because if I said anything, he would start either lecturing me or worse, sing prayers with that human’s name. I simply let him live his moment. Anyways~ ... it won’t last long. In three days, we will be leaving Esteria for good, and this Chapter of Myra Miracle will be closed forever.
I have decided not to breathe a word about her to anyone, and I want to keep it that way. That human doesn’t want it, and neither do I. That would be for the best for everyone else.
I suddenly heard the buildup to call my name. Fixing my tie, I straightened the minimal crease out of my suit’s jacket and strode forward.
"With a thunderous round of applause, please welcome on stage, Mr. Alaric Everests," as soon as Zachary finished saying my name, I walked out on the stage confidently. ’IT IS TIME.’
The students seemed pumped up, their cheers were loud, almost ear splitting. As my gaze casually swept over the crowd, I immediately saw~ ... her. She was sitting in a place too conspicuous to see. My eyes flickered, but I masked it quickly with an indifferent expression.
I clenched my fist tightly and walked to the podium commandingly.

(Author’s POV)
"They should have straightaway said that Alaric Everests was coming, and I wouldn’t have thought of leaving. All thanks to Prof. Mitchell, he didn’t let us flee," Shelly rambled, clapping like an overzealous seal as everyone applauded for Alaric. Then, without looking Myra’s way, she asked, "Don’t you agree, Myra?
When Myra didn’t respond, she turned her face to look her way and called out once again. "Myra?"
Myra, whose face was etched with a conflicting expression, couldn’t take her eyes off of Alaric’s regal demeanour. This time, she wasn’t even surprised. The things she had encountered from the past few days, doubled with her rotten series of luck, all made complete sense, that it was one of the Everests brothers.
Feeling a tug at her arm, Myra snapped out and, with a startled look, she uttered, "Huhh?"
Shelly chuckled, seeing her like that as she muttered, "Were you so mesmerized by Alaric Everests’ charm as well? You even forgot to clap and just kept staring at him. Hahaha~ ... I never thought I would see a day when Myra Miracle would be awestruck by someone. Is he your ideal type? Is it love at first sight?"
"NO AT ALL," Myra was quick to shut down the absurdity. Her voice came out a bit too loud than her usual tone. Shelly misunderstood it, thinking she was just trying too hard to deny the obvious truth. After all, how could someone not fall for ’The Alaric Everests.’ In her eyes, just like everybody else, he has it all. Looks, aura, status, money, social standing, gentleman and whatnot. The guy was a walking magnet, easily pulling all sorts of girls to him without even lifting a finger.
"Ayee~ Hye~ .... I know you are just being shy. But I will keep your secret." Saying this, Shelly winked at Myra as she did a zip it gesture with her lips.
No one saw it, but the invisible sparks that were flying between them reached both their hearts, giving both of them a sweet yet bitter ache.
Alaric chalked it down to Alex’s intervention as he pulled his eyes away from Myra and swept across the hall, "I am just here to share a few Chapters from my book of experience as a COO."
He went on with his encouragement filled, powerful words, sharing a few of his stories from his pack, alerting them appropriately for the vampire and human audience. As his speech came to a conclusion, the students and professors all roared in applause, the echo of their claps reverberating in the atmosphere.
This time, Myra also joined in, but her actions were mainly forced so that Shelly didn’t get the wrong idea, like earlier.
Alaric was about to leave the stage, but from the corner of his eye, he saw a familiar figure rushing inside the auditorium urgently. Their eyes met as Alaric’s brows knitted at the sight of the person, ’That damned lapdog. He is everywhere’ he sneered inwardly as he changed his route and instead of going backstage, he descended the stage from the front stairs.
He recalled last evening’s event, how Myra, after seeing him, panicked and rushed out of the hotel with her friend. Despite his better judgment, he followed the two after a few seconds, just catching the friend talking to Fabian as the guy’s eyes were fixated on the front passenger seat, where Myra was seated, with an overly concerned look.
That look, by an unknown reason, irritated Alaric a ton. Fabian Stephens, since the banquet has been getting on his nerves.
Fabian, on the other hand, after skimming through the crowd, saw Myra. He immediately made his way towards her, sauntering. Reaching by Myra’s side, he called out to her, "My~ ...." Taking a pause, he quickly adjusted his urgent tone and said, "Ms. Mira."
Alaric, who was just a meter or two away, heard him clearly. A mocking smirk crept its way on his lips, ’Still stitching that same old story, haha~ .... Let’s join the fun too."
