(Author’s POV)
Releasing a heavy, exhausting sigh, he said, "It will take me a while. In the meantime, have Chris Shadow handle them." And with that, he disconnected the call. Returning the phone to the person, he took out his own and switched it on. And surely enough, there were tons of calls, texts and even voice messages. A few of them from Gunnar, some from Chris and the rest from Jacob.
The former two said the same things that Gunnar had told him, whereas his grandfather had sent him a flurry of concern filled messages, along with twenty two missed calls.
"Fabian, where are you going?"
"Don’t do anything rash."
"You need to calm down, Fabian."
"Why did you switch off your damn phone?" and the messages went on and on.
Fabian felt guilty of the fact about how he acted with his grandfather as well as with his aide. He then texted Jacob, "I am fine. My phone ran out of battery. And I will not do anything rash. Rest assured."
After sending this, he kept the phone in his pocket and muttered under his breath, "Let me get Myra to a safe place, away from that Alaric, and then I will return. Plus, that Chris Shadow~ ... he needs to be taught a lesson for overstepping." Thinking like this, he made his way to the Architecture department’s private library.
As soon as he stepped inside the library, he swept his gaze around the room but found neither Alaric nor Myra in sight. His brows creased in confusion. He checked every nook and cranny, but they weren’t there. He immediately made his way towards the circulation counter and asked, "Has someone named Myra Miracle come here?"
He knew how Myra loved books and her habit of borrowing them from the library. So, if she had already left, there has to be an entry with her name.
The staff member checked and said plainly, "Sorry, Prof. Stephens, there is no entry with this name on our record."
"Are you sure?" saying this, he took out his phone, tapped on the gallery and showed the person Myra’s picture. "This person~ .... did she come here?"
The person gazed at the picture for a good two to three seconds and said, "This girl~ .... Yes, she did come with someone."
"So, where are they now?" Fabian asked, his voice leaking out his desperation.
Before the other party could reply, someone else interrupted their conversation and told him, "I saw her running out of here. And the gentleman who came with her quickly followed her out."
Fabian’s face changed into a terrifying expression. The thing he was dreading all along. ’Something must have happened with Alaric. That dirty wolf .... I will tear him apart.’ With that resolve, he stormed out of the place in search of Myra.

"Who~ .... Who are you? Let me~ ... LET ME GO ... Let me go, or else I will scream," Myra warned, her voice shivering as she tried to shake the person off of her. But whosoever it was didn’t budge. They locked their hands, caging her even more tightly and started patting her back soothingly, "Calm down, Myra. Relax."
Myra froze, her eyes widened, hearing the voice. She knew who it was, and she went into another burst of fury. She struggled and muttered, her voice sharp, "You~ you.... Let me go right this instant."
"Myra~ ... I know you are angry. But first of all, you need to calm down .... Okay~" the person said, his voice patient and unwavering.
"You don’t tell me what to do. Just~ ... let~ ... me~ ... go~ ..." she pushed, elbowed, but all for not. "Dion Everests, I said~ ... release me now."
Dion frowned. He couldn’t understand why his Lycan powers, to manipulate emotions, weren’t working on Myra. This has never happened before. Never Ever.
In a moment of lapse, his grip loosened just a bit, enough for Myra to free herself instantly. She pushed him away with all her might.
To Dion, her push was like a light nudge, but for her, the force was too much. As a result, she landed on her butt awkwardly, both her elbows scraping. Her skin instantly reddened as an abrasion formed, and a few tiny drops of blood also appeared.
As he was sulking and talking to his wolf simultaneously, a gentle breeze brushed past him, carrying Myra’s bloody scent. Alex immediately reacted as Alaric’s eyes shifted darker, ’Something has happened to our mate,’ Alex remarked.
Dispersing every other thought in his mind, Alaric zapped in the direction from which her fragrance had come.
The place where Myra and Dion were was a considerable distance away. Alaric either had to make his way through the campus area or take a long detour outside the campus borders. He chose the former as he wanted to reach to the place as soon as possible.
But when he was crossing the professor’s office, Zachary spotted him and called out, "Mr. Everests?"
Alaric ignored him, pretending not to hear as he marched his way, but Zachary was a persistent person. He followed him as he called, "Mr. Everests."
With no choice, he turned around and said, "Prof. Johnson~ ...."
"Mr. Everests, why are you alone? Why is Myra not with you?" Zachary asked as he looked around for his favourite pupil.
"I have sent her back. Umm~ .... Prof. Johnson, I have some business to attend to. Well then, I will be on my way," saying that, he turned around and walked away.
"Sent her? But I didn’t see her," Zachary mumbled, his face etched with confusion.
Alaric rushed towards the location, but what he saw made him crease his brows, "Huhhh?"
