Chapter 359: Let’s Never See Each Other Again

"Nor~ ... she is here? I mean~ ... what’s she doing here?" Dion couldn’t hold back his confusion. After such a tumultuous crisis, he was expecting Brave to return, but either alone or with Elio. It never crossed his mind, in such a chaotic time, that Brave would bring Nora with him.

Alaric hummed casually, "Ummhmm~ .... Rave has taken her back to the hotel. You~ .... After sending ’that girl’ back to her house, come straight to the Larson Villa. I am already here,’ after saying his piece, he didn’t wait for Dion and disconnected the call.

It took a little while for Dion to register everything. Craning his neck, he looked at the weeping, grimly sky, while tousling his wet hair back. Then he shifted his attention to the person sitting inside his car, resembling the very firmament. His long, now dampened eyelids fluttered while he held a conflicting look.

’Dio, are you going to tell her about Nora?’ Drey queried.

’I will have to~ ...,’ Dion replied. ’Nor has been eager to see her again. And I am sure she wants to meet her, too. A childhood bond like theirs can be weakened a little, but a rough patch cannot break it. Maybe, after reuniting with Nora, she will have a change of heart.’

’Or she might try to flee and hide again,’ Drey added.

’I won’t let her disappear from my sight, never again,’ Dion countered, his voice uncannily solemn.

’I know that, Dio. And neither will I let her go anywhere. But the timing ain’t correct,’ Drey conveyed his thoughts. ’I am not restricting you from telling her. You should~ .... of course, but~ ... not right now. Today has been quite eventful for everyone, especially her. Let’s not add anything more that can stress her out, hmm. Remember what the doctor told us. She suffered a panic attack. If something like that were to happen again, I won’t be able to bear seeing her like that,’ he confessed.

Dion agreed with his wolf’s statement. Telling Myra about Nora’s arrival might flare things up for the worse. He wanted to take things slow, to let her adjust at her own pace. Pushing her right now would only make her feel suffocated and cornered.

He walked back to his car fully drenched. As soon as he settled in, Myra asked, "What did they say? Did they manage to find him?"

"Ummhmm~ .... fortunately, they did," Myra’s rigid shoulders visibly relaxed. He looked in her eyes, searching for her reaction, "Right now, Mr. Larson~ .... he is in a private hospital~ getting treated ... though his condition~ .... remains dire. Nothing can be said if he could make it or not."

Myra pressed her lips tightly, "Which hospital is it? Can I~ .... can I visit him?" 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

"Why? Why do you care about him so much?" Before he could stop himself, the words escaped his lips. Honestly, during their drive from Hensenhaven to Esteria, curiosity was gnawing inside him. There was a tinge of jealousy as well. He wanted to know as to why Myra had such a massive, uncharacteristic reaction to Jacob’s accident. In his eyes, the two had no connection whatsoever. So, why?

Myra’s eyes narrowed, turning cold. She blurted out, "I don’t think I need to answer you about anything."

Dion licked his lips and backed away. He started the car and said, "If you can’t tell me, then~ ..."

"Then~ ...? Then, what? Are you trying to threaten me? Do you think that I can’t go alone?" Myra was about to get out, but Dion’s words made her have second thoughts. "And where do you think you will go to? Do you know which hospital he is at? What is the room number? His ward must be protected by a dozen bodyguards. Why do you think they will let you in so easily? What’s your relationship with him?" He tilted his head to the side and gave her a laid back look.

The barrage of questions, this thorough reality check, was like a slap on her face. She knew she was in no position to visit someone with the status of Jacob Larson. For a moment, sitting in such a fancy car, having influential people as her friends, studying in a place like Red Stone, had made her forget about her actuality. That her world was a millennium apart from theirs.

Truth be told, she was just too embarrassed to tell him the real reason. She regarded Jacob highly and admired him for his work ethic and his conduct. Or in simple terms, you could say, she was a die hard fan, a fangirl. But, from the fear of getting laughed at, she remained stubborn and didn’t tell him.

Fastening her seatbelt, she muttered, "I am tired. Mr. Everests, I want to go home."
