(Author’s POV)
*Crash*
"NIGEL, do you know what you have done? Do you have any fucking idea? You moron," Wyatt Long threw a ceramic vase straight towards his son. But because of Zara’s quick intervention, it ended up hitting the floor, just a few centimeters away.
"Wyatt, what do you think you are doing? You almost hurt Nigel," she reprimanded, shouting at her husband.
"Shut up, you foolish woman. It is because of you and your indulgence toward this good for nothing, piece of shit, that the Long name has to face such a humiliation today. All the employees, my friends and the entire Red Stone know what he has done. Soon, everyone in the high society would know as well, and it would ruin my business. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?" Wyatt lashed out at his wife. "Not being able to secure the first position wasn’t enough; he even went and spread nasty rumors, and that too using one of the company’s systems. How stupid. Utterly useless."
"But dad~ .... that pity party bitch, Myra Miracle. She is the one who snatched my place. I admit I used shady means, but I just stated facts. She has all the professors wrapped around her fingers. How is it fair for me to get expelled? Argghhhhh~ ......" Nigel ranted. He was still pissed off about what had occurred inside Prof. Mitchell’s office. He had never felt such crushing defeat. He was thoroughly disgraced and became frustrated as a result. "Only if~ ... only if that tip~ .... That freaking anonymous shit didn’t happen. Mom, Dad, it is all her doing. One of her sugar daddies must be behind this. I tell you. We need to expose her lies and innocent act," Nigel blabbered.
Zara backed up her son’s words, "Yes, Wyatt. What Nigel’s saying is absolutely right. That charity girl is so two faced. She has a sugar daddy. I am sure of it. Actually, I received a call in the morning from an unknown number. That person~ .... was the same person who sent those evidences to Zachary Johnson. He told me what he had done. I tried to threaten him, bribe him even, but he didn’t sound like he needed money or anything. I then rushed out to get to the university, but it was too late."
As she was in Nigel’s presence, she didn’t mention the choice that person gave her, to pick between their established company and their dear son.
"Why didn’t you tell me then?" Wyatt questioned.
"I didn’t know~ .... I was~ .... I was just in a hurry at that time," Zara answered.
"Who was it? Did he tell you his name?" Mr. Long asked.
Zara hesitated. She had an inkling that it was Alaric Everests, the famous Everests family’s heir, but no confirmation. She suspected that the voice she had heard matched Alaric’s a lot, and the way he kept looking at Myra during the entire thing. In the end, she just shook her head, "No~ .... He didn’t disclose his name. But it was a male and sounded like someone who held an authoritative position. It has to be her patron."
"Shit~ ...." Wyatt banged his hand on the wall. "So, that girl has solid backing."
"Dad~ .... We need to do something about it. We must teach her a lesson. We must reveal her true affair," Nigel was adamant. "Only then can I restore my lost dignity, and we can reclaim our reputation."
Wyatt settled in his seat, his hand massaging his temples. He was at his wits’ end. Then suddenly something struck him as he said, "If what you both say is true, then there is a way to expose her and her secret affair and show her real character to the world."
"What is it, Dad?" Nigel became visibly excited.
