Chapter 452: Got A Lead

(Author’s POV)

"Mom~ ...." Pearl’s sobbing voice echoed inside the room as she saw Amy finally open her eyes. "Da~d~ .... dad~ ... mom is awake," she said.

Sebastian, who was taking an urgent business call, disconnected it and ran inside. He glanced at his wife as relief washed over him. He had a very important meeting scheduled for the afternoon, but after getting the news of Amy’s collapse, he cancelled all of that and rushed straight to the hospital to be by her side.

He paced towards her and asked, "Honey~ ... are you feeling okay?"

Amy was groggy, confused. Her lashes fluttered slowly as she looked around and mumbled, "What am I~ ... doing here? What happened to me?" Her voice was as low as a whisper.

Sebastian pursed his lips and narrated what Brave had told him. After Sebastian had arrived, Brave had taken his leave from the room. He then went straight to Myra’s room to inquire about her condition. William was curt and polite, but at the same time distant. Brave didn’t linger around much and returned to the mansion.

Pearl nodded and walked out of the room. He then settled down and asked, his voice low as well, "The doctor said you fainted because of stress. Did you ... did you talk to Ms. Miracle? Is this because she said something to you? I will have a talk with her. I will explain to her what happened then." He said this and was about to go when Amy reached out for his hand. "Seb, no. Don’t go anywhere. It is not because of Myra."

"Then, why did you faint out of the blue?" he asked once again, his voice firm.

"It’s~ .... It’s just~ ..." Amy fumbled, contemplating whether to tell him the truth or just keep mum. After much thought, she decided not to tell him anything for the time being, "Seb, it was an anxiety attack. I am fine now."

"You say, you are? I think not. Do you know how worried I was when I called you and someone else answered? It felt like my heart was going to stop when Brave Everests told me that you fainted. Amy, if there is anything that you are trying to hide from me, say it. Tell me, and I will make everything right."

"Seb~ .... I~ ..." Amy started, but they were interrupted by Pearl. Ezra came trailing behind, his expression a mask of aloofness.

"Mom, why did you faint? You were okay when we were talking on the phone, then why so sudden?" Pearl inquired.

"It was because of low blood pressure," Sebastian said. "Ezra~ ..." He turned to his son, "Where did you disappear to?"

"Just here~ ... did you needed something, Mr. Garcia?" He asked, his tone was way too casual and flat.

Seeing his son’s attitude, Sebastian was about to flare up, but Amy squeezed his hand lightly, gesturing for him to calm down. And eventually, he did. Ezra then said, his tone flat, "I have a pending assignment to complete. Plus, I guess, I am not needed here anymore~ ... so I will be taking my leave. Pea~ ... you comin’?" He asked his little sister.

"Nope, I will stay here with mom," Pearl spoke. She, too, got terrified when she first heard the news. Ezra shrugged his shoulders in indifference and walked out without giving Amy even a second glance.

"That imbecile~ ...." Sebastian was about to go on a rant, but Amy interrupted once again, "Seb, I feel thirsty."

Sebastian shifted all his attention to his wife as he served her water like a devoted husband. Pearl looked at the harmonious couple, her parents, from the side as she decided to give them some space. She settled on the couch and started peeling an apple for Amy.

Meanwhile, in a fairly subdued voice, Amy said to Sebastian, "Seb, can you go and check up on Myra? I want to~ .... talk to her."

"No, absolutely not. Do you want to collapse from stress once again?" Sebastian immediately shot down the idea. But Amy was persistent, "Seb, honey, pleaseeeeeeee~ .... This is my only chance to tell her the truth. Please, help me. I promise you, once I have told her everything and if she still doesn’t want me in her life, I won’t insist. Seb, I beg you."
