Mated To The Alpha King (Raven and Ethan) novel Chapter 413

Reven’s POV

4338

I woke up to the constant ringing of my alarm clock, the sharp sound cutting through the quiet of my small room like a blade.

I sighed in frustration as I forced my eyes open, staring blankly at the cracked ceiling above me. Another day

Another routine. Another attempt to pretend everything in my life wasn’t slowly falling apart.

Dragging myself out of bed, I rubbed my face with both hands, trying to shake off the heaviness sitting on my chest. it wasn’t just tiredness.

It was something deeper, something I didn’t want to name. Maybe regret. Maybe loneliness. Maybe both.

1 stood up and walked into the bathroom, turning on the tap and splashing cold water against my face. The chill helped, but not enough.

My reflection stared back at me, eyes slightly swollen, lips pressed into a thin line.

I didn’t look like someone who had everything under control, no matter how hard I tried to act like it.

After drying my face, I stepped out and made my way to the kitchen.

The house was quiet, too quiet. Edna wasn’t around, and honestly, that had become normal these days. We barely spoke

anymore.

The distance between us had grown so much that even when we were in the same room, it felt like we were strangers.

1 grabbed a mug and started making coffee, the familiar process calming my nerves just a little. As I took a sip, I leaned against the counter, my mind drifting.

Things hadn’t been the same lately.

Not with Edna.

Not with Sophia.

Not even with myself.

1 hated it.

But instead of fixing it, I kept pushing everything aside like it didn’t matter.

“I don’t need her in my life…” I muttered under my breath, thinking about Edna. “Not when I have Sophia.”

Even as I said it, something about it didn’t sit right with me.

I shook my head quickly, finishing my coffee before heading back to the bathroom to take a bath.

Chapter 413

The warm water ran over my skin, washing away the physical exhaustion, but not the thoughts clouding my mind.

After getting dressed, I stepped out of my room and glanced briefly at the corner where Edna usually sat reading.

She wasn’t there this morning, but I could almost picture her quiet, distant, lost in her own world.

For a split second, guilt tugged at me.

I wanted to apologize.

I wanted to fix things.

But just as quickly as the feeling came, I pushed it away.

No. I don’t need that right now.

I grabbed my bag and walked out of the house without looking back.

The bus station was already crowded when I arrived. People moved around in a rush, voices overlapping, engines roaring in the background.

I hated taking the bus, but I didn’t have enough money for a cab most days.

When the bus finally arrived, I climbed in with the other passengers and found a seat by the window. As the bus started moving, I rested my head lightly against the glass, staring outside.

My thoughts drifted again.

Sophia.

Ever since that party, she had been distant. She said she had family issues, and I believed her… or at least I tried to.

But something felt off. The way she avoided my calls sometimes. The way her tone had changed.

Still, I told myself not to overthink it.

Everyone has their problems.

The bus came to a stop, snapping me out of my thoughts. I got down and made my way to work, arriving earlier than

usual.

After signing in at the reception, I went straight to the changing room and put on my uniform.

I had barely finished when one of my colleagues rushed in.

“The manager needs you,she said quickly.

I frowned slightly. “Me? Why?”

“She didn’t say. Just said it’s urgent.”

My curiosity spiked, but I nodded. “Alright. I’ll be there now.”

I obeyed, my heart beating a little faster.

“I called you here to hand something over to you,” she began.

1 blinked, confused. “To me?

She nodded, her expression serious. “I’ve been watching you for some time now. You’re hardworking, Reliable, And most importantly, trustworthy.”

I felt a small sense of pride. “Thank you, ma. I’m just doing my job.”

She leaned forward slightly. “Today, we’ll be receiving a jewelry piece for a client. But this isn’t just any jewelry, it’s a rare
