Chapter 109
The next day, in the evening.
Heath drove to Alaric’s house, entering with Aurora.

The banquet hall was bustling with men and women chatting away. Heath leaned over to Aurora and said, “If you don’t want to stay, we can leave. Aurora smiled and nodded.
Alaric called out loudly, “Heath!”
Everyone turned toward the door and greeted Heath politely. It seemed like everyone knew him.
Elowen let go of Alaric’s arm and floated over like a butterfly, her voice melodious, “Heath, I thought you wouldn’t come today. You usually avoid these kinds of gatherings.”
“Rory wanted to come, so here we are,” Heath replied.
Elowen’s expression shifted, “Aurora is here too. Let’s all have fun.”
Aurora: “…”
So, I’ve been standing next to Heath this whole time, and you didn’t notice?
Alaric came over and said, “Aurora, go easy on the drinks, or Heath will tear my house down.”
Aurora playfully stuck out her tongue, “Then let him.”
A few men came over and invited Heath to play cards. Heath turned to Aurora and asked, “Want to join?”
Alaric pulled Heath away, “Stop showing off your love. What’s wrong with being apart for a bit? Could Aurora possibly get lost in my
house?”
Aurora laughed, “I’ll pass. You guys go ahead. I’ll just wander around.”
Heath followed Alaric, and Aurora found a corner to sit in. She was here to save face for Alaric; these gatherings weren’t really her scene.
‘Aurora,” a cold male voice sounded next to her.
Aurora turned her head. Eamon Ironside,
“Nice to meet you, Eamon,” Aurora greeted politely.
“Don’t you like these kinds of gatherings?” Eamon sat next to her and asked.
Aurora shook her head, “It’s not that I don’t like them.”
Eamon offered her a glass of wine, “Can you drink?”

Aurora hesitated but took it, “A little.”
“Do you know about the Heath family situation? Eamon asked.
:
Aurora shook her head, “No, he hasn’t mentioned it, and I haven’t asked.”
Eamon looked at her but said nothing, sipping his red wine. His every move reminded her of a masquerade ball from years ago.
Aurora sat on the couch, sipping the fruit wine Eamon had given her.
Both remained silent, quietly drinking and watching the lively crowd. Two minutes of silence passed.
Eamon suddenly asked, “Are you Aurora Pendleton?”
(49)
He was still holding his glass of red wine, looking at the crowd ahead, his expression unchanged, as casual as if discussing the weather.
Aurora paused, “Yes.”
Eamon turned to look at her, more like scrutinizing her, “Aurora, your mysteriousness makes it hard to trust you. If you dare harm Heath in any way, even if you’re truly a Pendleton heiress, I can assure you won’t live to see another day.”
Aurora had always been passive around Eamon, feeling a sense of fear. She was afraid he’d recognize her, remember her from that masquerade ball.
Even though she wore a mask, she couldn’t remember if she’d ever taken it off in some deserted corridor, room, or bathroom.
If Eamon decided to investigate, he could easily find the guest list for the ball and discover she’d used someone else’s identity to get in.
And then, he could trace it back to the elusive Olivia and see a face identical to Aurora’s.
But when Eamon said those words, Aurora suddenly wasn’t afraid anymore. If he was determined to investigate her, it was only a matter of time. Hiding had no point.
Aurora looked straight into Eamon’s eyes and said, “If you’re worried I’ll harm him, you’re welcome to keep suspecting me. But I won’t be this patient every time.”
She got up and walked into the yard. Alaric and Zane’s villa had a large swimming pool, and a few people were chatting outside.
‘Aurora!‘ someone called her.
She turned around. Zane was in a white suit, a rose tucked into his breast pocket. He looked like the charming young man she’d envisioned for the role of Dylan.
Zane walked over and asked, “Are you still filming War Against Fate?”
Aurora nodded, “Yes, we are.”
Zane scratched his head, “Did you cut Dylan’s scenes?”

Aurora nodded again, “We’re in the process of editing. Why?”
Zane awkwardly looked around, scratching his head again, ‘Well… how about… I continue to play Dylan? You won’t have to change the script…”
Aurora looked at him, ‘I don’t need a Dylan who can only enjoy privileges but can’t endure hardships. I believe when Eastwood wrote War Against Fate, he didn’t envision such a character either.”
“I won’t use a stand–in! I’ll do it myself!” Zane immediately said.
Aurora smirked, “I don’t believe you.”
“I really won’t use a stand–in!” Zane insisted.
“What about pulling rickshaws?” Aurora asked.
“No need!” Zane quickly replied.
“Manual labor at the docks?”
“No need!”
“Rolling in the mud?”
“No need!”
“Kneeling and getting beaten?”
“Ummmm…” Zane hesitated.
Aurora smirked again, “I knew it. Zane, your knees are just as valuable as a stand–in’s. Just because you’re the heir of the Strider family, you think you’re above everyone else?”
Zane looked helpless, “It’s just acting, isn’t it? Do you have to be so harsh? I’m not completely useless, you know?”
Aurora shrugged, “In the entertainment industry, aside from that face, you really are useless.”
She turned to leave. Zane shouted, “Hey! Aurora! I really can do it!”
Aurora ignored him. Frustrated, Zane rushed over and grabbed her shoulder, “I said I won’t use a stand–in! I can act!”
Aurora frowned, “Let go!”
Zane tightened his grip, “I won’t! Agree to let me come back to the set, and I’ll let go!”
“Will you let go or not?” Aurora glared at him.
“I won’t!” Zane glared back.

Aurora grabbed his wrist, swiftly turned, and executed a beautiful judo throw. The six–foot–tall man splashed into the shimmering pool, drenching Aurora in the process.
People turned at the noise, only to see the usually arrogant Zane climbing out of the pool. His suit was soaked, the rose wilted, and his hair stuck to his scalp. He looked utterly ridiculous.
Unable to contain himself, and regardless of his plea to rejoin the cast, he pointed at Aurora and yelled, “Are you even a woman?*
All his life, the women around him had been gentle and soft–spoken. None were like Aurora, who could throw him into a pool with a single move, leaving him disheveled and humiliated.
Aurora smirked, “I told you to let go. You chose not to.”
