Chapter 114
Furious and humiliated, Sophia tan to find Madeline. She has to go. I won’t let her strut around the Pendleton house anymore!”
Madeline was shocked to see her daughter’s state. Sophia, what happened? Why are you hurt?”
Sophia sobbed as she spoke, ‘Mom, it’s all Aurora. She’s been sabotaging me in the entertainment industry. When I confronted her, she even laid hands on me!”
Madeline, who had always doted on Sophia, was livid. “That little wretch Aurora! How dare she bully you? She must be itching for a fight!
Sophia cried pitifully, “Mom, Aurora’s getting too arrogant because Grandpa spoils her. She said she’ll kick me out of the Pendleton family!
“Don’t worry, Sophia. I’ll help you get your revenge. We’ll kick her out and see how she likes it,” Madeline comforted her.
“How… how can we kick her out?” Sophia asked.
“Since the rumors about her being pregnant before marriage turned out to be false last time, this time we’ll make it true. Let’s see how she holds up her reputation in the Pendleton family after this,” Madeline said, her voice filled with malice.
Hearing her mother’s plan, Sophia broke into a smile through her tears. This time, she was determined to drive Aurora out.
Aurora never took Sophia seriously. In her eyes, Sophia was a defeated foe who would eventually bring about her own downfall.
War Against Fate continued to dominate the ratings, its popularity showing no signs of waning. Zane’s performance was particularly noteworthy; whether he was taking a beating or kneeling, he did it all himself, shedding any trace of his previous spoiled demeanor.
Cheryl, who played Yasmine, officially entered the entertainment industry as the new darling. Aurora had already secured her a couple of ad campaigns and variety show appearances, and was now scouting new scripts for her.
Meanwhile, Daxton’s album was well underway. The music video for the lead single was being shot, and Cheryl was the obvious choice for the female lead.
Aurora had deliberately not overloaded Cheryl with work, saving her for Daxton’s music video. Daxton’s melodic voice was perfect for the slightly melancholic love song they’d chosen. Cheryl, her long hair flowing, portrayed a woman dying of a terminal illness.
Both Cheryl and Daxton delivered unexpectedly strong performances. The sorrow, longing, loneliness, and pain conveyed in the song were perfectly mirrored in Daxton’s expressions. Aurora even considered encouraging him to try acting.
Upon its release, Daxton’s album immediately shot to the top three on the sales charts and dominated various music platforms. With Yorick’s collaboration and Cheryl’s appearance in the music video, the album sold out quickly, solidifying Daxton’s standing in the entertainment industry.
At the end of the year, both Zane and Cheryl received invitations to the Music Awards ceremony. Daxton, being a nominated artist, was naturally expected to attend.
In the Fairview Studio, Daxton tried to persuade Aurora, “Aurora, why don’t you come with me? I owe all my success to you. How could you not go?”

Chapter 114
:
Aurora shook her head, “I don’t have an invitation. What would I be doing there?”
‘Just be upfront about it. Say you’re my boss. The organizers will definitely send you an invite,” Daxton suggested.
Aurora shot him a look, “You want to reveal that I’m your boss now? Are you trying to get yourself killed by Evelyn?”
Daxton slumped on the sofa, “But going alone feels so pointless.”
Aurora smiled, “How can it be pointless? You make music for yourself, not for me. You’ve earned this.”
Daxton still hesitated, “But-”
“No buts. If I’m not going, let Cheryl accompany you,” Aurora said.
Cheryl, sitting off to the side, had let her short hair grow out to a medium length, giving her a softer, more gentle appearance.
“Let Aurora do her thing; don’t make it hard for her. I’ll go with you,” Cheryl said.
Daxton nodded, “Alright, I’d be pretty nervous going alone. Thanks.”
Cheryl laughed, “What are you thanking me for? We’re both Aurora’s protégés. You’re like my senior since you signed before me.”
Daxton scratched his head awkwardly, “Well, thanks, junior.”
The Music Awards ceremony officially kicked off at the end of the year. Aurora was lounging on a sofa at Heath’s home, watching the ceremony with him.
