Me And My Billionaire Husband
Chapter 113

Xander, ever the diplomat, took to Instagram to address the buzz. With a touch of grace, he invited Daxton to feature on a single for his upcoming album.
Daxton’s star was on the rise, thanks to successive collaborations with artists like Shaw, Yorick, and now Xander. His name was becoming synonymous with success in the entertainment industry.
In stark contrast, Silas was languishing in relative obscurity. Aside from a small cadre of fans who were more enamored with his looks than his talent, he was a non–entity. Even the usually resourceful Evelyn seemed at a loss to alter this trajectory.
Whispers about Silas’s privileged upbringing began to circulate online, painting him as an entitled scion of a wealthy family, a narrative
that did him no favors.
Social media was ablaze with speculation. The camaraderie among the alumni of The Chosen One was evident to all, especially given their collaborative ventures. The glaring omission of Silas from this inner circle led many to question the integrity of his character.
Evelyn was in a state of near panic, but Silas appeared unperturbed. He was, after all, the heir to the Song family fortune. His preoccupations were elsewhere–specifically, on Aurora’s captivating visage. He was consumed with strategizing ways to infiltrate her well–guarded personal space.
However, Aurora was nothing if not cautious. Her security detail was airtight, with a bodyguard shadowing her every move. Even in the rare moments when her bodyguard was momentarily absent, she was never alone, leaving Silas bereft of opportunities to make his move.
His inability to get close only intensified his obsession. Career considerations had become secondary; his primary focus was winning over
Aurora Pendleton.
A week later, the much–anticipated War Against Fate made its debut, shattering viewership records on day one.
Whether lured by Zane’s aesthetic appeal, the allure of the source material, or the enigmatic female protagonist, the show was an
unqualified success.
Cheryl, who portrayed Yasmine, was a revelation. Draped in a sultry, dark red dress, she exuded an ineffable charm that left no room for
doubt: she was Yasmine incarnate.
Online discussions pivoted, with trending topics like “War Against Fate’s Female Lead,” “Cheryl,” and “Yasmine” eclipsing even Sophia’s social media footprint.
Sophia was incensed. She recognized Cheryl as a former high school drama club rival who had once belittled her. The audacity of this woman to now usurp her spotlight was unfathomable.
Fuming, Sophia stormed into her grandfather’s mansion, where she found only Aurora at home. “Aurora, show yourself!” she bellowed.
Aurora emerged from her room, descending the staircase to confront Sophia. “What seems to be the problem?” she inquired, her voice tinged with icy detachment.
Sophia looked up, her eyes meeting Aurora’s.
Dressed casually and makeup–free, Aurora stood at the top of the staircase, leisurely sipping water from a glass.
“Aurora! Did you bring Cheryl into this?” Sophia demanded.

“What’s it to you?” Aurora retorted.
“Don’t think you can deny it and get away with it. No one else even knows Cheryl. Who else would bring her to the capital to compete against me? Sophia yelled from the bottom of the stairs.
Aurora chuckled, leaning on the stair railing as she looked down at Sophia. “So what if I admit it? What are you going to do about it?”
“Aurora Pendleton!‘ Sophia seethed, “You’ll regret crossing me like this!”

Aurora straightened up, casually tilted her glass, and poured the water over Sophia’s head. Sophia screamed, “Ah! Aurora, you’re insane! How dare you! I’ll tell Dad!”
“Go ahead, tell him how I humiliated you. Also, I’m not competing against you. You’ve never been worthy of being my rival,” Aurora said, dropping the glass. It shattered near Sophia’s feet, splinters scratching her legs.
Jay rushed in, hearing the commotion. “Aurora, what happened?”
“Somebody’s causing a scene. Throw her out,” Aurora said, dismissively.
Jay grabbed Sophia by the wrist, ignoring her struggles and screams, and dragged her out of the house. “Aurora doesn’t want to see you. Please leave,” he said, shutting the door behind her.
Sophia was soaked, her wrist red from being dragged, and her leg scratched. All the while, Aurora had stood aloof, looking down on her
from above.
Aurora had never considered her a rival; her gaze was filled with nothing but disdain and contempt.
