Me And My Billionaire Husband
Chapter 119
07
The atmosphere turned awkward for a second… Zane’s anger deflated, and he was torn between leaving and just closing his eyes…
When Aurora saw Zane, she pushed Heath away, “Okay, that’s enough. Time to go.”
Daxton and Cheryl walked in right after and froze at the sight of Heath. What was the CEO of Fairbank Corp doing here?
“Aurora, is Heath…” Daxton trailed off, unsure if he should ask.
Heath rubbed his temples, all business–like, “Sorry, wrong room.”
Then he left the private room.
Aurora:
”
Zane: “…”

Seriously?? His room was a whole floor away, and he ‘accidentally‘ walked into ours??
They all sat back down, and Aurora asked, “Sophia gave you trouble?”
Cheryl nodded, “It’s nothing. Ignore her.”
Aurora turned to Zane, “Who are you mad at?”
Zane huffed, “I’m not mad! Just annoyed at myself for butting in!”
Cheryl: “…”
Aurora laughed, “Alright, let’s not worry about Sophia. She’s not worth it. To celebrate Daxton’s award and our new member at Fairview Media, cheers!”
They all stood up, glasses in hand, and downed their drinks.
Aurora announced, “The upcoming Film and Drama Festival is around the corner. Cheryl and Zane, you’ve both been nominated, and Daxton, you’re performing. You three should go together.”
Zane was puzzled, “Together? Why?”
“It’s normal for fellow apprentices to stick together, right?” Aurora prodded.
“Who’s apprentices? I’m nobody’s apprentice!” Zane protested.
Cheryl smirked, “You’re not an apprentice, you’re the junior brother here. You signed up last.”
Zane was speechless.

Chapter 119
…
After the meal, Aurora had Jay drop the trio off first. She wasn’t tipsy and could cab it home.
Cheryl was concerned, “Aurora, want me to share a cab with you?”
Zane nudged Cheryl into the car, “Chill, she can handle herself. Who’d dare mess with her?”
He knew Aurora too well. She was probably planning to meet Heath, hence the rush to send them away. She had this thing with Heath, always so low–key, while any other girl in the capital would’ve shouted from the rooftops if they’d caught his eye.
Once they were gone, Aurora dialed Heath, “Done drinking? I’ll drive you home.”
Heath’s background was noisy, but he sounded sober, “Yeah, almost done.”
Aurora heard the clinking of glasses and the crowd urging Heath to drink more. She headed to the front desk, got Heath’s private room number, and went upstairs. Slipping on a pair of black–rimmed glasses and straightening her hair, she transformed from a young girl into a no–nonsense secretary.
Knocking and entering Heath’s room, she spotted him amidst a crowd, a CEO type clinging to him, “Heath, you can’t do us dirty! Our company has wide connections in the States too, not just the Whitmores!”
Aurora was taken aback. The Whitmores? Was Heath still dealing with them after the last deal fell through?
She approached and said, “Mr. Fairbank, your father is asking for you at home.”
Heath turned, a bit startled, then nodded, “Okay.”
The men, hearing about the senior Mr. Fairbank, didn’t dare delay and quickly bid Heath goodbye, letting Aurora whisk him away.
She hailed a cab and helped Heath inside, giving the driver the address to Heath’s place. Heath seemed off, rubbing his temples and leaning heavily.
At the apartment, Aurora supported Heath into the elevator, which was a struggle as he leaned into her, almost causing her to lose her
balance.
Reaching the 25th floor, she unlocked the door and nudged Heath inside. As soon as the door shut, he pressed against her, trapping her in the entryway, his head heavy on her shoulder.
Aurora patted him, “Heath? Heath?”
His breath was warm against her ear as he murmured her name intimately, “Rory.”
She shivered, not used to this closeness, and pushed at him, “Heath, let’s get you to your room.”
He straightened up, his hands gripping her shoulders, his gaze intense. Whenever he looked at her like that, Aurora felt her world spin. His eyes were deep, holding stars and oceans.
