Returning to the restaurant, Grandpa was already seated at the table, with Aurora sitting to his left. She politely greeted him, “Grandpa.”

Grandfather smiled and asked everyone to be seated. Maxwell, who had just rushed back from outside, immediately greeted his grandfather.

Grandfather, looking affectionately at his successful young grandson Maxwell, said, “Maxwell is back. Sit down, finish your soup, dinner

will start soon.”

Maxwell took his seat to the right of his grandfather, facing Aurora.

As the meal was served, Grandfather encouraged everyone to eat. The table, hosting six family members, was unusually quiet, with everyone focusing on their meal.

The conversation turned to business and the development of their family business. Maxwell mentioned, “Grandpa, I heard you gave Aurora 4% of the shares?”

Aurora, head bowed, didn’t speak. Was this Maxwell standing up for his sister?

Grandfather nodded, “Each of the three sisters will have their share. Sophia caused such trouble, so her share went to Aurora.”

Maxwell nodded and looked at Aurora, “Do you plan to return to work at our family business?”

Aurora shook her head, “No, I’m not interested.”

Evelyn sneered, “She stepped on Sophia to enter the entertainment industry. Now she even has her own studio and looks down on our own business.”

Aurora laughed, “I do respect Pendleton corp. Perhaps, big sister, you’d like to give me your shares?”

Evelyn glared, “You dare ask for shares? You stole my endorsement, and I haven’t settled that with you yet!!

Maxwell frowned, ‘What endorsement?”

Evelyn complained, “The online game endorsement was mine! Aurora interfered and stole it!”

Aurora laughed, “Yours? Did the company sign a contract or agreement with you? Show me one written document, and I’ll admit I took it from you.”

Evelyn was speechless; she had no proof, only the company’s verbal approval.

Aurora sipped her soup and said, “Big sister, those were just courteous business words. If there’s no contract, it’s not yours.”

Evelyn argued, “But if not for your interference, that endorsement would have been mine!”

Maxwell, frowning, said, “Enough, let’s respect fair competition.”

Aurora smiled, “Hear that? Fair competition.”

Sebastian slammed on the table, glaring at Aurora, “Have you caused enough trouble?”

Aurora, looking askance at Sebastian, replied, “What trouble have 1 caused?”

Sebastian, seething, wished he could slap her, “You’ve turned this family into a mess! When will you be satisfied?”

Aurora smiled, “Speaking of satisfaction, why not ask your wife to tell us how my mother died? Let’s clear this up once and for all.”

Madeline, stiffening, replied with a gentle smile, “Aurora, your mother indeed died of depression. What more do you want to investigate?”

Aurora pressed, “My mother died of depression? Why is there no trace of her in this house, not even a photo or a signature? She was once Mrs. Pendleton. Why won’t anyone tell me her full name? If you have nothing to hide, why not be open about it?”

Sebastian stood up, his chair screeching, pointing at her, “Your mother was a disgrace! Unworthy of a place in this family!”

Grandfather shouted, bringing everyone’s attention back to the table.

Sebastian, still emotionally charged, exclaimed, “Your mother! Shameless woman!”

With a sharp ‘snap,” Grandfather hurled his bowl at Sebastian’s face. The porcelain struck, drawing blood from Sebastian’s forehead. Grandfather, seemingly oblivious to the injury, shouted fiercely, “Enough!”

Sebastian, in pain, stopped speaking. Madeline, anxious, stood up to support Sebastian, crying out, “Sweetheart! Are you alright?”

Evelyn also came to check on Sebastian, suggesting, “Dad, should we call a doctor to treat you at home?”

Grandfather, still furious, commanded, “Maxwell, call the doctor to the house to treat your father!”

Maxwell nodded and went out to make the call.

Evelyn turned and glared at Aurora, furiously accusing, “This is all because of you! You disaster!”

Aurora, ignoring her, turned to her grandfather, “Grandpa, shall I help you back to rest?”

Grandfather sighed and nodded. Aurora assisted him to his room. He sat on the bed, and after a moment of hesitation, Aurora asked, “Grandpa, you know about my mother, don’t you?”
