Me And My Billionaire Husband (Aurora and Heath) novel Chapter 171

Chapter 171

The fridge was wellstocked, with Gloria adding fresh vegetables and meat daily. Aurora chopped up some celery, passing the meat to

Heath to mince.

The two clattered around the kitchen. Aurora wasn’t skilled in cooking, but Heath was quite adept, so it wasn’t too chaotic.

After mixing the meat filling, Aurora looked at the dough and worried. She really didn’t know how to roll out pasta dough!

Heath, resigned, took the utensil and made a few sheets of pasta for her. Aurora finally managed to shape the pasta, her attempts lopsided and set aside.

Thus, the neat ones were Heath’s creations, while the quirky, uneven ones were Aurora’s.

After finishing the pasta, Heath cooked two more dishes, while Aurora bravely prepared a salad. Under Heath’s guidance, it turned out quite presentable.

Boiling the pasta, Aurora’s apron and face were now dusted with flour. She looked miserably at Heath, shrugging, I’m sorry, I really can’t cook.

With flour on her nose and a tired, flushed face from an hour’s labor, she looked at the pasta in the pot, hopeful yet disappointed.

Heath pulled her into his embrace, kissing her lips.

Aurora was startled. Heath released her, whispering, Thank you, I’m really happy.

The depth in Heath’s eyes turned Aurora’s cheeks red. She pushed him away and ran to watch TV in the living room.

Heath watched the pasta in the kitchen, while Aurora was engrossed in the TV show, laughter occasionally filling the air.

For the first time, Heath felt content just like this.

No matter who she was or her motives, as long as she stayed safely by his side, that was enough.

Amid the gentle smoke of fireworks, for the first time, the highandmighty Heath was drawn into the ordinary world, feeling warmth.

This warmth all came from the quirky girl in the living room.

The pasta was ready. Heath set the table and went to call Aurora for dinner. She was already fast asleep on the couch, hugging a pillow.

Heath approached her, playfully obstructing her breath. After a moment, Aurora struggled awake, rubbing her eyes and asking, Is the pasta ready?

Heath nodded, Yes, let’s eat.

Aurora yawned, stood up, and walked to the table. She then dashed to Heath’s liquor cabinet, grabbing a bottle of red wine.

Heath opened the wine, pouring it into glasses. This was a first expensive wine paired with homemade pasta.

Aurora checked the time, past midnight. She raised her glass, her eyes crinkling with a smile, Happy New Year, Heath!

Heath returned the toast, Happy New Year!

Aurora put down her glass and picked up a piece of pasta, yelping as it burned her mouth. Finally finishing it, she smacked her lips contentedly, It’s pretty good!

Heath laughed, Your cooking is impressive.

Aurora nodded proudly, Of course! I’m amazing!

Heath indulgently shook his head, picking up a piece of pasta to eat.

Feeling full, Aurora strolled around the living room, exclaiming, I’m stuffed, ate too much.

Heath suggested, How about a walk outside? Maybe we can set off some fireworks?

Aurora’s eyes sparkled, Can we set off fireworks in the city?

Heath donned his coat and picked up Aurora’s, asking, Shall we go?

Aurora immediately nodded, Yes!

Late into the night, Heath drove with Aurora beside him. She soon fell asleep, finding a unique sense of security and peace with Heath, devoid of nightmares and anxiety.

When Heath woke her, Aurora rubbed her eyes, asking, Where are we?

Silverbay Island, Heath replied.

Silverbay Island? Aurora was surprised.

Silverbay Island, a countylevel city near the capital and by the sea, was known for its flourishing tourism.

Though not far from the capital, Aurora couldn’t believe they had left the city while she slept.

Heath parked the car by the beach, moved the fireworks to the sand, and walked with Aurora to the shore, saying, We can set off fireworks here.”

Aurora, barefoot on the beach, shivered as the cold waves lapped at her ankles.

Heath pulled her back, cautioning, Don’t play in the water in winter, you’ll catch a cold.

Obediently, Aurora stepped back as Heath set up the fireworks, handing her a lighter. Together, they lit the fireworks and ran to the edge of the beach, watching the dazzling display overwhelm their conversation.

After setting off a seemingly endless supply of fireworks, Aurora grew tired, but still wanted to explore the beach.

She wandered along the shore, with Heath following silently beside her, the atmosphere turning quiet.

Suddenly, Aurora scooped up some sand and playfully threw it at Heath, probably the first to ever dare such an act.
