After a long pause, Heath finally said, “When I took you to the island to watch the fireworks, I had no idea Eamon’s people were there for

a pickup.

Aurora smiled, relieved. That was enough for her. As long as Heath wasn’t using her, that was all that mattered.

In the end, all she wanted was his sincerity, without deceit or manipulation.

Not like Dominic Ashcroft, who gave her beautiful illusions only to shatter them.

Aurora’s tense body relaxed. She leaned back on the sofa, flipping through the disorganized documents, and asked, “So, in addition to managing the family business, have you often been executing missions with Eamon?”

Heath shook his head, “Occasionally. I used the power of the KING organization to stabilize the Fairbank Corporation in the early years, but these past few years, I’ve been more occupied with Fairbank’s affairs.”

Kieran added, “But the KING organization still really needs the boss!”

Aurora raised an eyebrow at Heath, “What do you mean?”

Heath smiled helplessly, “The cost of executing missions is too high. Eamon doesn’t want to scrimp and save, so I allocate funds to him

every year.”

Aurora was surprised, “So, you’re basically running the organization now? Does that make you the boss?”

Heath tapped her forehead playfully, “I’m not the boss. I just provide financial support.”

Rubbing her forehead, Aurora muttered, “Sounds like a boss to me…”

Kieran leaned in mischievously, whispering to Aurora, “Miss Aurora, don’t you think our President is pretty cool?”

She nodded, “Yeah, he is.”

Aurora leaned in closer to Kieran, “So, are you guys embezzling the stuff you seize?”

Kieran replied, “Miss Aurora, this is a legitimate organization. Embezzlement would lead to military justice. Of course, everything is

handed over.”

Aurora, frowning, asked, “Then how does such a legitimate organization help Heath in the business world?”

Kieran laughed, “Well, we have an intelligence network! Besides, Eamon essentially runs the organization. Using some resources for private matters is permissible.”

Aurora nodded, asking, “Can I take a look?”

“No!” Heath and Kieran immediately objected.

“Why not?” Aurora pouted.

“It’s a secret organization. Letting you in would do you no good,” Heath explained.

Fine, fine, Aurora waved it off, then suddenly asked, “How do you select members?”

“Mostly elites discovered by Eamon, and some are picked up along the way and trained by us,” Heath answered.

Aurora nodded silently, pondering. If things came to a head with Heath, could she get Jasper and Carly into the organization? It would ensure they were safe from the Abyss and give them a place to belong.

She thought it was a good idea and planned to discuss it with Jasper and the others.

Aurora, seemingly having digested all this information, leaned back on the sofa, flipping through the documents until the doorbell rang. Kieran went to get the delivery, and Heath then led her to the dining room for dinner.

Eating quietly, Aurora asked, “Does Eamon dislike me because he thinks I’m a spy?”

Kieran nodded, taking a sip of water, “Yeah, he is very hostile towards anyone who could potentially harm our President. It’s not surprising, considering how outstanding you’ve been.”

Aurora shook her head helplessly, “Is it my fault for being too excellent?”

“No, no,” Kieran said, “It’s mainly because your relationship with the President developed too quickly. Eamon probably thinks you’ve bewitched him.”

Aurora was speechless.

Heath looked at her and said, “Don’t listen to them. I think our relationship isn’t moving fast enough. Should we speed things up?”

Kieran couldn’t hold back his laughter, almost choking on his food. Heath’s remarkable ability to remain unfazed was clearly evident in his interactions with Miss Aurora.

“Drop dead!” Aurora glared at Heath.

Kieran happily continued eating, amused by Heath’s repeated setbacks with Miss Aurora. It was a case of the irresistible force meeting the immovable object.

After dinner, Kieran cleaned up the kitchen and left. Heath drove Aurora home.

On the way, Aurora was in high spirits, feeling like she had gotten closer to Heath after learning his secret. Suddenly remembering Heath’s injury at Weyton Manor, she turned to him and asked, “Will you always stay with the KING organization?”

The car stopped in front of the villa. Heath, looking into Aurora’s clear eyes, seemingly understanding her inner thoughts, pulled her into his arms and said, “Yes, it’s another home I can’t let go of.”

Aurora felt a tinge of disappointment. She got out of the car, and as Heath walked her to the door, he held her hand, “But I’ll gradually step back, and I won’t get hurt anymore.”

Aurora looked up into his reassuring eyes, nodded, and turned back into the villa.

Her biggest worry was the gunfire and life–and–death situations she had endured over the years, happening to Heath. As long as he
