The car smoothly entered the parking lot. Kieran opened the door, and Heath carried the sleeping Aurora back home.

After placing Aurora on the bed, he bent down and gently kissed her forehead, then quietly closed the bedroom door and left the room.

He walked to the study, opened the safe, and took out a thick stack of files along with a laptop, moving them to the living room.

Kieran hesitated before asking, “Sir, are you really going to tell Miss Aurora?”

Heath nodded, “If I’ve decided on her, she’ll have to know sooner or later.”

“But what about Eamon…” Kieran was concerned about Eamon’s reaction.

“For now, don’t tell him,” Heath instructed.

Kieran nodded and helped Heath organize the documents in the living room.

When Aurora woke up, it was already eleven o’clock. Hunger roused her, and she realized she was in Heath’s bedroom, undoubtedly brought back by him.

In her past life as an assassin, she would wake up if someone approached, but now, sleeping next to Heath, she slept like a log.

After washing her face in the bathroom, Aurora walked out to find Heath and Kieran in the living room, surrounded by a pile of documents.

“Awake? Hungry?” Heath looked up at her.

Aurora nodded, “Hungry. Is there anything to eat?”

“Nothing left. What would you like? I’ll take you out to eat,” Heath offered.

“No need for the trouble,” Aurora yawned, checked the time, and said, “Let’s order delivery!”

She sat down on the sofa, browsing for food delivery on her phone, and asked, “Have you eaten yet?”

Heath shook his head, ‘Not yet.”

“Then I’ll order extra. Let’s eat together, Kieran,” Aurora suggested.

Kieran nodded, and after Aurora ordered the food, she looked at the pile of documents on the table and asked, “Are you busy? Should I go back to my room?”

Heath shook his head, organized the documents, and handed them to Aurora, “These are for you.”

Aurora was surprised, “All these for me? Is your company going bankrupt or something?”

Heath and Kieran just looked at each other.

“Just kidding. What is this? Aurora opened a document labeled “KING Project.”

“The preliminary concept and later development of the KING Project,” Heath explained.

Aurora flipped through it, confused, “What’s the KING Project?”

“It’s a long story. Basically, it’s a plan to train special elite forces, forming a team for special missions,” Heath said succinctly.

Aurora, stunned, turned to Heath in disbelief, “You’re training assassins?”

Heath was also stunned, not understanding how she could think that.

“Not assassins, just a team specialized in combating drug and arms trafficking. Eamon’s family has extensive ties in foreign military and political arenas. His family is basically the driving force behind this project. Born into such a family, Eamon has to shoulder this responsibility,” Heath explained.

“What about you? What’s your role in this?” Aurora asked, flipping through the documents that included the initial concept of the KING Project, personnel selection and training, and mission execution.

Heath placed the documents on the table, pushing them towards Aurora, “Eamon and I founded the KING organization together. I’m a partner, or rather, like Eamon, one of the first generation KING students.”

The documents clearly stated that Heath had received military training abroad. He was not just an instructor for the organization but also one of its founders.

That explained his impressive skills, so formidable that Aurora stood no chance against him in a fight.

“Why get involved in such a plan?” Aurora inquired.

She knew the immense effort and grueling training it took to become a top–tier student and assassin like Heath.

Heath smiled, “Years ago, the internal strife in the Fairbank family was intense. As an illegitimate child shunned from the spotlight, I had no means to take over the Fairbank Corporation or win against my ruthless siblings.”

“What about the last time… the gunfight at the Weyton Manor…” Aurora suddenly recalled a past event.

Heath glanced at Kieran, who immediately fetched the relevant documents and handed them to Aurora, “Last time, Eamon’s team was tracking a drug trafficker named Luca at the manor, supposedly for a deal with some big shot. We were there to capture him. Miss Aurora, we’re not bad people…”

Kieran was afraid that Aurora would change her view of Heath. After all, she was just a twenty–year–old girl.

“And the New Year’s Eve gunfight at Silverbay Island…” Aurora just wanted to know if Heath was using her.

Heath turned to look at her, meeting her intense, almost anxious gaze.

The atmosphere in the living room grew incredibly still, the sound of cars outside becoming distinctly audible.
