The following day, Aurora returned home to unexpectedly encounter Yvonne and Evelyn at the doorstep.
Yvonne, upon seeing Aurora, charged at her with an accusation, “Was it you? Did you persuade Quise to kick me out of the show?”
Aurora gave her a dismissive look. “Yvonne, my little company is barely a workshop. I’m hardly a boss with such influence to sway a producer.”
Yvonne, teeth clenched in anger, retorted, “Don’t think I don’t know it was you just because you won’t admit it! You just can’t stand seeing me succeed, plotting to replace me with Cheryl!”
Aurora laughed, “You’re right, I can’t stand you. But what right do you have now to stand in Cheryl’s way? Have you paid off your tax debt of twenty million yet?”
Yvonne, infuriated and cornered, knew this tax evasion scandal should have been settled privately, but now it had blown up, making her a pariah in the industry, leaving even Evelyn helpless.
“Aren’t you and Evelyn close friends? Didn’t my kind sister help you?” Aurora taunted, turning to a visibly uncomfortable Evelyn.
Evelyn, feeling awkward, wondered how she could possibly help. Yvonne’s tax evasion was now public knowledge, and stepping back from the public eye to wait out the storm seemed the only option.
Aurora, with a playful smile, stroked Yvonne’s hair, “I hope my sister has kept you well–protected, or else I might dig up more dirt on you. After all, I’ve already vowed to destroy you, right?”
Yvonne shivered under Aurora’s smiling gaze, always outmatched by her presence and unable to retaliate.
Ignoring Yvonne, Aurora returned to the villa. Recently, her grandfather had been unwell, and Aurora frequented home to care for him, he was now the only one who treated her kindly.
“Grandpa, I’m back!” Aurora announced cheerily, entering the living room where her grandfather was enjoying coffee.
“Is that Aurora? Come, let me have a look,” he beckoned, his face lighting up.
Aurora approached, chatting warmly, “How have you been feeling lately, grandpa? Shall we invite Lysander check on you?”
“No need,” the old man waved off her suggestion, “Just the usual troubles of aging. Nothing serious.”
Unable to persuade him otherwise, Aurora changed the subject, “Your birthday’s coming up. Are we having the celebration at home again?‘
He sighed, ‘Let’s do it. It’s the same every year. It’s important to maintain business relationships.”
Aurora understood. These birthday celebrations were more for her cousin Maxwell’s business dealings than for enjoyment. She pondered
celebrating her grandfather’s birthday differently this year, wanting to show more filial piety to her only family member.
Elsewhere, at the Fairbank Corporation, Elowen sat next to Heath on a sofa, pushing a design sketch towards him. “Heath, do you think this design works?”

Chapter 195
She was currently serving as a fashion consultant for Evelyn, whose appearances at events and airports had been eye–catching. Elowen was contemplating establishing her own brand and hoped to collaborate with the Fairbank Corporation, naturally linking her career with
Heath.
Heath, massaging his temples, responded, “Elowen, it’s not just my decision whether we collaborates with you. It requires a shareholders‘
meeting.”
Elowen, head bowed, replied with a hint of grievance, “Heath, I’m just looking for a chance. Won’t you even give me that?”
Heath felt helpless. He had known Elowen since they were children, and given Alaric’s deep affection for her, he refrained from being harsh. However, Elowen’s persistent entanglement was causing him great distress.
“Just leave the design here, and I’ll have the head of the design department take a look,” Heath said, standing up to politely see her out. Unexpectedly, Elowen suddenly stumbled forward, falling onto Heath.
Heath frowned at the strong scent of her perfume. He wasn’t a connoisseur of fragrances, but he knew Elowen’s tastes were luxurious. Yet, this aroma couldn’t compare to Aurora’s shower gel, which was refreshing, natural, and captivating.
Elowen, flustered, quickly stood up, apologizing profusely with her head down, “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to! I just lost my balance!”
Fearing Heath’s anger, Elowen’s apologies were tinged with panic.
Heath, irritated, gestured for her to leave. Elowen almost ran out of the Fairbank Corporation.
As she descended the stairs, Elowen opened her palm, revealing a key she had stealthily acquired. She knew without guessing that it was the key to Heath’s residence.
Aurora was flipping through a script. It had been over half a month since she last visited Heath’s residence, due to Cheryl’s hospitalization and her grandfather’s ill health. She planned to ask Heath how to celebrate her grandfather’s birthday when he returned.
Suddenly, there was a noise at the door. Aurora, curious, hurried to the entrance in her slippers, only to see the door handle turn and the door pushed open from outside.
Startled, Aurora exclaimed, “Elowen?”
Elowen, holding groceries, stood outside the door, biting her lip in determination.
She knew coming at this time would likely catch Aurora at home.
Ever since discovering Aurora was living with Heath, Elowen had been restless. Why Aurora? Elowen had known Heath for years, yearning for his attention, yet he had never given her a second glance. Meanwhile, Aurora was already cohabitating with him!
Elowen couldn’t bear the thought of Heath with another woman. She was determined to drive away anyone who came close to him.
