Me And My Billionaire Husband (Aurora and Heath) novel Chapter 197

Aurora, with a burst of indignation, pushed Heath away, shouting, Don’t touch me!

Heath was taken aback and furrowed his brow and asked, Rory, what’s wrong?

Aurora stood up abruptly, declaring, I’m leaving!

Heath grabbed her, but Aurora recoiled as if electrocuted, rubbing her hands in disgust. Heath, his face stern, questioned, You’re disgusted by me?

Head bowed, Aurora remained silent. The dim light in the hallway barely illuminated the scene, leaving Heath unable to discern her expression. He only saw her downturned head and her silence.

Rory, talk to me. What happened?Heath persisted.

With her head still low, Aurora muttered, Elowen was here.

What?Heath was confused. Aurora had met Elowen many times before, and he had made it clear he didn’t like Elowen. He thought Aurora wouldn’t be troubled by her.

Elowen came, opened the door herself. Heath, why does Elowen have keys to this place? Aurora lifted her head, confronting Heath with. bright, clear eyes that seemed to shimmer with unshed tears, or perhaps it was just a trick of the light.

Heath was speechless. How did Elowen get keys to his place? He patted his pockets, suddenly recalling Elowen collapsing on him earlier. Where was his key?

It might be she took myBefore Heath could finish, Aurora interrupted, She took the key from your pocket? Heath, why not just tell me she took off your pants?

Heath frowned, irritated. He knew Aurora was upset and baiting him into an argument. Rory, you know I wouldn’t do that!he retorted.

I don’t know! We’ve known each other for how long? What do I know?Aurora, defensive and fiery like a porcupine, glared at Heath.

Rory! Why would I give Elowen the keys to my house? You know she’s up to something!Heath exclaimed, massaging his temples.

Heath, Elowen is so determined to be with you! Coming here, cooking for you! What else have you two done?Aurora spoke rashly, aware she was being unreasonable but unable to control her distress. She wanted Heath to share her anguish.

Rory! Think before you speak!Heath tried to keep his temper in check, his head throbbing.

Aurora hastily packed her script into her backpack, kicking aside scattered bell peppers as she headed for the door.

Heath followed, grabbing her at the doorway, his voice cold, Rory, I’ve told you, I don’t like Elowen! Stop being unreasonable!

Aurora jerked her hand free, yelling, You never said you liked me either! Yes, I’m being unreasonable!

She ran into the elevator, leaving Heath’s residence behind.

Heath, left in the messy living room, massaged his throbbing head, kicking over a coffee table in frustration.

Aurora’s temper was explosive. It seemed she had her own sensitive territory, which Elowen had undoubtedly infringed upon, causing her

to lose control.

Elowen’s actions had triggered Aurora’s insecurities, the intense fear of losing Heath engulfing her.

The mere thought of Heath cooking and caring for another woman brought an unbearable pain, spreading from within, leaving her no outlet for relief.

Aurora hailed a cab to Alaric’s racetrack, a frequent haunt of the young and wealthy.

She used to come here often with Zane, who now spent less time here due to his insistence on focusing on their film project.

Upon her arrival, several unfamiliar men greeted her, Hey, beauty! Fancy a race?

Aurora smiled slyly, replying, Sure! Any bets?

A young man in a leather jacket, adorned with clinking chains, approached, Half a million for a round. You in?

One million,Aurora countered.

The crowd cheered, amused and intrigued by the bold girl challenging their idle, wealthy pastime.

Holt, don’t chicken out!someone jeered at the young man in the leather jacket. He was the heir of a not quite toptier wealthy but still formidable family.

Nodding, Holt agreed, Alright, one million it is.

Aurora chose the same red sports car she had driven last time. After a quick test of the vehicle and donning her helmet, she took off like a streak of flame at the sound of the starting gun.

The two cars raced neck and neck, but soon Holt pulled ahead, to the cheers of the onlookers. Lysander and Alaric, emerging from the lounge, saw the crowd watching the live screen and joined, curious. What’s happening? This looks exciting.

A man pointed at the screen, Holt’s racing a girl, bet’s a million, Looks like he’s winning.

Lysander and Alaric, intrigued, watched intently. A woman daring to race Holt, notorious for his reckless driving, was indeed rare.

Holt maintained the lead, but Aurora seemed unfazed, following at a steady pace.

In the final turn, Aurora suddenly accelerated, skillfully hugging the edge of the track and overtaking Holt by half a car length to cross the finish line first.

The crowd gasped in amazement as Aurora stepped out of the car, her long, slender legs visible beneath her denim shorts. Even Lysander couldn’t help but whistle.

Holt approached Aurora, smiling with interest, How about another round?

He had only been half a car length behind. Confident in his victory, he added, Plus, it’s a pleasure to race with a beauty like you.

Aurora nodded, Sure, let’s make it two million this time.

Holt laughed heartily, Deal! I’m not short of two million!

So Aurora donned her helmet and got back into the car. This time she won by a narrower margin but still reached the finish line first.

The crowd cheered as Holt, now visibly frustrated, challenged her again, One more race!

Five million,Aurora said nonchalantly.

If I win, you spend the night with me!Holt blurted, eager for a win.

Let’s put it in writing,Aurora replied, wanting to ensure he wouldn’t renege.

Holt impatiently wrote the agreement. Aurora checked it, nodded, and got back into the car without a word.

The race started, and once again, the fiery car sped off.

Alaric was on the phone, sounding amused, Heath! If you don’t hurry, your girl will bet the farm!

When Heath arrived at the racetrack, it was past 10 PM. The crowd was eager to see Holt win a round, egging him on.

Heath, noticing the speeding red car on the track, asked, What’s going on?

Alaric replied with a grin, Nothing to worry about. Your girl’s already won over ten million from Holt. He’s desperate now.

Kieran, watching the car zip like the wind and noting his boss’s darkened expression, sighed internally. Another argument had led to this

Earlier, Heath, ready to leave the office, had to stay for overtime when Alaric called. Kieran had sped through countless red lights, knowing only one person could make his boss this anxious.

Seeing Aurora racing at such speeds, risking life and limb, it was no wonder Heath was both worried and angry.
