Turning around with a frown, Aurora saw the latecomer – Evelyn!

Evelyn, dressed in a smart suit, exuded a mature and sexy charm. Yvonne followed her, wearing a white gown that gave her an ethereal, stunning appearance.

Wilde immediately stood up and walked over to embrace Evelyn, “Evelyn! You finally made it! Such grandeur!”

Evelyn laughed behind her hand, “Mr. Wilde, don’t tease me. I don’t put on airs!”

Yvonne, with a gentle demeanor, shook hands with Wilde, “Mr. Wilde, looking forward to your support.”

Wilde returned the handshake with a smile. The group exchanged warm greetings, seemingly oblivious to Aurora and Cheryl’s presence, completely ignoring them.

When the secretary brought the contract to the table, Aurora flipped through it, then turned to Wilde, asking, “Mr. Wilde, what is this supposed to mean?”

Wilde smiled at Aurora, “Ms. Pendleton, what do you mean?”

Aurora opened the contract, pointing to the first page. Tapping her finger on the table, she asked, “What does it mean for Cheryl to play the second female lead?”

Before Wilde could respond, Evelyn, sitting across from Aurora, said with a smile, “Aurora, can’t you read? The contract says the second female lead, and it means just that.”

Aurora smiled, looking at Yvonne across the table, “If I’m not mistaken, the role of the first female lead, Luna, is Yvonne’s, isn’t it?”

Yvonne glanced at Evelyn without speaking, following Evelyn’s lead completely.

Evelyn opened her own contract, spun it around, and pushed it towards Aurora, saying, “It’s written there in black and white, see for yourself.”

On the first page, it was clearly stated: Yvonne would play the first female lead.

With a sharp slap, Aurora tossed the contract onto the table, her gaze on Wilde cold and fierce. “Mr. Wilde, are you playing games with me? We agreed Cheryl would star in this film, and now suddenly it’s Yvonne?”

Wilde, visibly uncomfortable, rubbed his hands together and said, “Ms. Pendleton, there seems to be a misunderstanding. I never confirmed Cheryl as the lead. Perhaps there was a miscommunication from my team. I apologize for the mix–up.”

Aurora scoffed, “Mr. Wilde, do you take me for a kid? We are all business people here, so let’s be straightforward. What kind of offer did my dear sister make to sway you to choose Yvonne so decisively?”

Wilde glanced at Evelyn, who quickly interjected, “Aurora, roles are acquired on one’s own merit. There’s no need for this unreasonable

fuss.”

Aurora smiled, “How is this unreasonable? I’m just curious to learn from my sister how to snatch roles from others. Especially considering Yvonne’s widely known tax evasion scandal, how did you manage to convince Mr. Wilde to cast her? What tactics did you use?”

Aurora smirked, her eyebrows raised as she looked at Evelyn, “Sister, why so defensive? Surely you didn’t resort to any unsavory methods, did you?”

After a brief pause, Aurora clicked her tongue, “That would be surprising, wouldn’t it? Weren’t you always aiming to marry into a wealthy family? I thought you always prided yourself on your integrity.”

“Shut up!” Evelyn stood up abruptly, leaning forward on the table, looking ready to lash out at Aurora.

“Sister, calm down, I was just making conversation,” Aurora said, waving her hand dismissively and sharing a knowing smile with Cheryl.

“Evelyn, sit down, relax, don’t get worked up,” Wilde said, trying to pacify Evelyn.

Evelyn finally took a few deep breaths and sat down.

Her agitation was clear; Aurora had hit a nerve.

She and Wilde were college classmates, and even back then, Wilde had a special fondness for her. Evelyn always kept him on the hook, calm and unhurried, until these recent years when Wilde achieved success in his career. Gaining a foothold in the upper society, it was only then that Evelyn gradually warmed up to him.
