Me And My Billionaire Husband
Chapter 219
:
Having navigated the entertainment industry for years, Evelyn was no naive young girl. She boldly made a few dates with Wilde, quickly wrapping him around her finger. Thanks to her charm, she secured a lucrative endorsement deal with an international cosmetics brand and conveniently snagged a role for Yvonne.
Wilde, tenderly caressing Evelyn’s back, returned to his seat with a frown, facing Aurora. “Ms. Pendleton, that’s not fair. Evelyn is your sister, after all. How can you speak to her like that?”

Before Aurora could respond, Cheryl burst out laughing. “And what right do you have to lecture my boss, Mr. Wilde? Are you speaking as a business partner? This collaboration might not happen now. Or are you speaking as Evelyn’s boyfriend? In that case, I suggest you stay quiet like me. The Pendletons can handle their own family matters.”
Normally, Cheryl wouldn’t dare offend producers or directors with such bold words. But she knew Aurora well enough to realize this collaboration was doomed.
“Cheryl, watch your language!” Yvonne immediately came to Evelyn’s defense upon hearing Cheryl speak.
Aurora’s gaze was sharp as a blade as she turned to Yvonne. “Is Cheryl wrong? Or do you have trouble understanding plain talk? The Pendleton family’s affairs are none of your concern!”
Yvonne, intimidated by Aurora’s intense stare, shrank back, staying silent.
Evelyn, visibly annoyed with Aurora, retorted, “It’s clear what Mr. Wilde wants. Either sign the contract with Cheryl as the supporting actress, or don’t sign at all and leave the script to us.”
Aurora flipped through the contract with a helpless smile on her face.
Evelyn scoffed, thinking Aurora would eventually give in. After all, without the contract, what would Cheryl shoot in the coming months? If Cheryl played the supporting role to Yvonne, it would be a perfect opportunity for Yvonne’s comeback, wouldn’t it?
But to everyone’s shock, Aurora tore the contract in half with a swift rip and then shredded it completely, pieces of paper scattering across the dark brown conference table, some even landing on Evelyn’s face. Aurora coldly sneered, “Shameless. What makes you think Cheryl should play second fiddle to you?”
Evelyn frantically cleared the debris from her face and hair, about to explode with anger.
Aurora looked at her coldly. “Evelyn, do you really think I care about such
trivial matters? You like picking up what I discard, feel free. Hopefully, you can make a star out of Yvonne, or else it might be time for your studio to close its doors for good!”
With that, Aurora took Cheryl by the hand and walked out of the conference room. At the door, she paused, turning back to Wilde with a hint of sarcasm. “Oh, and Mr. Wilde, before you blindly devote yourself to Evelyn’s cause, I suggest you do a little background check on how many boyfriends she actually has.”
Evelyn glared at Aurora, but before she could retort, Aurora slammed the door and strode away.
Feeling aggrieved, Evelyn turned to Wilde. “Did you see how she bullied me? I wasn’t lying, was I? She’s even more arrogant at home!”
Wilde wrapped his arms around her, soothingly whispering, “It’s okay, it’s okay. I’ll make sure all the best opportunities come your way.

With my help, that little girl won’t stand a chance against you.”
Evelyn playfully twisted in his embrace. “You don’t really believe her divisive words, do you?”
Wilde affectionately pinched her cheek, reassuring her, “Of course not. I believe in you.”
“You’re so good to me!” Evelyn warmly hugged Wilde, planting a kiss on his cheek.
Yvonne chimed in with a smile, “Don’t worry, Evelyn. I’ll give my best performance. I won’t let you down!”
Evelyn looked at Yvonne with satisfaction. “Crushing Aurora rests on your shoulders now!”

They had snatched Aurora’s script. Cheryl would be lacking good resources for the second half of the year. By year’s end, no one would be
able to outshine them!
Meanwhile, downstairs, Aurora kicked the car seat in anger, cursing, “Damn it!”
Cheryl tried to calm her down. “It’s okay, don’t be mad. It’s not worth it.”
Aurora, frustrated, ran her fingers through her hair. “I should’ve investigated Wilde thoroughly. We wouldn’t have lost the deal otherwise!”
Cheryl hugged her, saying, “How could you have known about Evelyn and Wilde?”
“But losing the script affects your career,” Aurora fumed, feeling responsible for hindering Cheryl’s progress.
Cheryl smiled. “It’s okay. Consider it a vacation. I can always do more TV dramas. Many actors do several a year, and I’ve only done one
this year.”
Aurora shook her head, “I’ll think of something else.”
She didn’t want Cheryl to rush from one TV drama to another, as it could affect her acting quality. Aurora wanted Cheryl’s works to be about quality, not quantity.
