Cheryl, with a growing fan base in TV, urgently needed a film role to break into the big screen.
After dropping Cheryl off at her apartment, Aurora returned to her place. She flopped on the sofa, flipping through scripts sent by producers who heard Cheryl was planning a movie. The best and most suitable for Cheryl, in her opinion, was The Earthquake.
But after going through the scripts again, none seemed right.
The doorbell rang. Aurora, looking distressed, answered it. Heath walked in, ruffled her hair, and asked, “What’s wrong? You look upset.”
Aurora threw herself back on the sofa. “The script I secured for Cheryl got snatched by Evelyn.”
Heath sat down, pulling her close. “How did she manage to snatch it? Weren’t you supposed to sign the contract today?”
Aurora pouted. “Evelyn slept her way to it, charming Wilde. That’s something I’d never do.”
Heath playfully pinched Aurora’s waist as a light punishment. “Nonsense! I’d like to see who dares to lay a finger on you!”
Aurora rubbed her waist, her face sullen. “It took so much effort to pick out a script. After all the discussions and negotiations, now the collaboration’s off. Where am I going to find a new script now?”
“Alright, stop worrying. Let’s have dinner first,” Heath said, leading her to the dining room.
Aurora listlessly pushed the rice around her plate, mechanically eating whatever Heath served her, clearly distracted.
Heath, feeling helpless, called out to her, “Rory.”
Aurora was lost in thought and didn’t respond.
Heath put down his chopsticks and tapped the table. “Rory!”
Aurora snapped back to reality. “Huh? What’s up?”
“Eat your food properly,” Heath said.
Aurora awkwardly wiped her mess with a napkin. “I can’t eat. I’m too upset!”
Heath sighed. “Eat first, and I’ll think of a solution.”
Aurora was surprised. “You’re not planning to throw money around to buy a script for me, are you?”
Heath shook his head. “Would you want a script I just bought with money?”
Aurora bit her chopstick, frowning in thought. “Quality is important. I want Cheryl to win awards.”

‘I know. I’ll handle it,” Heath reassured her.

Aurora’s eyes brightened. “Really?”
She knew Heath wouldn’t disappoint her.
“Finish your meal first,” Heath pointed at her bowl.
:
Aurora quickly focused on her food, eager to finish and see Heath’s solution.
After dinner, Aurora looked expectantly at Heath, hoping he’d present a perfect script. She’d praise him to the skies for it.
Heath pinched her cheek. “We’ll talk about it tomorrow. Time for bed.”
“But I want to know now!” Aurora pleaded softly, a hint of coquettishness in her tone.
Heath shook his head. “No, it’s bedtime.”
Aurora tried to wheedle him for a while but to no avail. She went to her room to bathe and sleep.
But she couldn’t stop thinking about the script and the smug faces of Evelyn and Yvonne earlier in Wilde’s meeting room.

Tossing and turning in bed, she couldn’t sleep. At midnight, with dark circles under her eyes, she went to the living room for water and saw light in Heath’s study.
Entering, she found Heath busy at his computer. He stood up. “Why aren’t you asleep?”
“I can’t sleep! I’m too worried about the script!” Aurora lamented.
Heath, pinching the bridge of his nose in exasperation, carried her to the sofa. “Fine, I’ll tell you.”
He pulled a book from the shelf and handed it to her. It was a black and white design, titled Dual Facades.
“Ever read this?” he asked.
Aurora shook her head. “No, I haven’t.”
‘Go read it and let me know what you think. There, I’ve told you. Now, go back to sleep,” Heath said, carrying Aurora back to the bedroom.
He laid her on the bed, took the book from her arms, and placed it on the nightstand. “Sleep well, we’ll talk about this tomorrow.”
Aurora rolled over, covering herself with the blanket, Heath kissed her forehead. “Goodnight.”
“Goodnight,” Aurora said with a sleepy smile, watching Heath leave the room.
As soon as Heath was out of sight, Aurora sat up and eagerly opened the book.
The author, Luce, had passed away years ago. This book, his final work, had won several literary awards both domestically and internationally, making it a renowned piece in literary circles.

Aurora hadn’t really explored much literature in her previous life, and in this life, despite reading some, she hadn’t come across this book. But she thought, if it was in Heath’s study, it couldn’t be an ordinary work.
She was so anxious about finding a script for Cheryl that she couldn’t sleep. If only she had investigated Wilde’s background more thoroughly, she wouldn’t have wasted so much time, leaving Cheryl without a project. Embarrassed and restless, sleep was elusive.
Given that Heath had chosen this book for her, Aurora wished she could speed–read through it immediately.
