Waking up the next afternoon at one, Aurora cooperatively cleaned up the mess in the kitchen, waiting for Heath to cook.
After a hastily eaten lunch, it was already the afternoon. Heath asked Aurora to wait for him as he went to fetch some goods and supplements for Aurora’s grandfather from Lysander, planning to come back for her.
Aurora obediently stayed at home, waiting for Heath’s return. She had intended to accompany him, but Heath insisted she rest at home.
When Heath brought her to the Pendleton villa, it was already dark. Aurora looked at him helplessly, “It’s too late, Grandfather won’t be
pleased.”
Heath smiled, “Worried about me?”
Aurora rolled her eyes, “I’m not worried about you! Even if Grandfather is displeased, he won’t be angry with you. I wonder who’s the real
family member here!”
Heath pulled Aurora into a kiss, saying, “We are all family, no need for formalities.”
Aurora’s cheeks flushed, and she spat, “Shameless, who is family with you!”
Heath laughed joyfully as Aurora stormed off into the house. Inside, it was pitch dark–odd for just after sunset to have no lights on.
Aurora called out, “Grandpa? ”
No response. Wondering if the house was empty this late, she fumbled for the light switch. Clicking it on, the lights didn’t come on, but
the floor lit up.
More precisely, lights on the floor illuminated a path lined with rose petals, winding towards the back door.
Curious about what her family was up to, Aurora, without hurry, hung up her coat and followed the lit path.
Along the way, every few steps, she found a bright rose with a small card attached in the middle of the path. She collected many cards as she walked, each bearing a simple yet elegant message.
“When we first met in the back garden, you were quite forward.”
“You can shoot, race, and do business. Why can’t you cook?”
“We’ve been living together so long, don’t you think it’s time to make it official?”
“Before meeting you, I never thought about love. After meeting you, I’ve never thought about anyone else in love.”
“From the first moment I saw you, I knew, for the rest of my life, it would be you.”

“Rory, my feelings for you have always been more than just liking.”
Before she knew it, Aurora had reached the small pavilion in the garden. This ordinarily inconspicuous pavilion was now encircled by
light, with countless roses twined around the pillars and myriad lights twinkling above, resembling a fairy tale castle meant for a princess.
And the man standing in the pavilion, impeccably dressed in a suit, holding a vibrant rose, appeared as a prince straight out of a fairy
tale.
Holding a large bundle of roses and cards she had collected, Aurora felt bewildered, unclear about the situation.
Heath stepped down from the pavilion, approaching her to hand over the rose. Aurora, still dazed, accepted it, looking at Heath with
confusion.
Heath, gazing into her eyes with a tender and affectionate tone, said, “Rory, with this rose, that makes 143 roses. Accepting my flowers
means you’re accepting me.”
“Ahh?” Aurora remained stunned, unsure of what Heath was doing.
“I can cook, race, and shoot, likely better at business than you. I’ll treat you well, be gentle, loyal, and provide you with enough security. Also, my feelings for you have always been more than just liking. I want you to know, I love you.” Heath looked into her eyes with
sincerity and determination.
He smiled, pulling out a small, ornate box from his pocket, kneeling on one knee. This immensely distinguished man was likely being this careful for the first time. Opening the box, the dazzling pink diamond caught Aurora’s eye under the light.
Heath, with utmost seriousness, never having looked at her so earnestly before, asked, “Rory, will you marry me?”
