Heath glanced at the diamonds on the tray, finding none of them particularly distinctive–just big and vulgar. He frowned, and the

manager, frightened by his expression, didn’t dare to speak, unsure what he had said wrong.

Sitting beside him, Lysander saw Heath’s dissatisfaction and, giving the manager a look, said, “Is your boss like ordinary people to you?

Presenting him with these goods… I wouldn’t glance at them either!”

The manager, in a difficult position, said, “Sir, these are the best diamonds we have in the store… If Mr. President isn’t in a hurry, I could

source others from elsewhere.”

Heath tossed the diamond he was holding back onto the tray, asking, “Isn’t there a pink diamond available?”

The manager was startled but nodded, “Yes! Mr. President, I had forgotten. Usually, pink diamonds are used for necklaces and bracelets.

Engagement rings are typically these kinds of clear diamonds. Using a pink diamond for a ring is somewhat wasteful.”

Heath shook his head, “No matter, bring the pink diamond to me.”

The manager hurriedly fetched it, disregarding the waste. After all, it was Heath’s decision. He could do whatever he pleased, even use it

for playing marbles.

The manager brought the pink diamond to Heath, its size not large, but its tender pink hue and its crystal–clear brilliance were dazzling.

Moreover, Aurora already owned a necklace and bracelet set of pink diamonds. A pink diamond ring would be perfect.

Heath decided then and there, “This one. Take it to the chief designer and tell him to have it ready within half a month.”

The manager promptly agreed, carefully storing the diamond before escorting Heath and Lysander out of the store.

Back in the car, Heath himself felt surreal, about to propose all of a sudden. What if Aurora wasn’t ready? Would it be awkward if she

Thus, New Year’s Eve dinner was just Aurora and her grandfather, a quieter yet harmonious gathering compared to the boisterous

celebrations of past years.

After dinner, Aurora didn’t let her grandfather stay up late, sending him to rest early. Then Jay escorted her to Heath’s place.

Upon arriving, after sharing some drinks, Heath looked at her with a meaningful gaze and asked, “How is your grandpa doing?”

Aurora nodded, “He’s doing well, enjoyed the New Year’s Eve dinner quite a bit!”

Heath nodded and said, “I’ll visit him tomorrow to wish him a Happy New Year. I’ll be going abroad in a few days.*

Aurora was taken aback, “Abroad? Is it something to do with Eamon?”

Heath shook his head, “No, it’s just a business trip. I’ll be back soon.”

Aurora nodded, remaining silent. She was used to Heath frequently traveling abroad.

Staying up late into the night, Aurora was so sleepy she could barely keep her eyes open. Heath carried her back to the bedroom to sleep.
