Me And My Billionaire Husband (Aurora and Heath) novel Chapter 41

Chapter 41

Heath stood in a corner, watching Aurora’s sly performance with a smirk on his lips.

Kieran, standing behind him, couldn’t help but think: Just a couple of days ago, the boss had adamantly refused to attend the Song family’s banquet. And now?

Upon hearing that the dress shop had sent dresses to the Pendleton home but left out Aurora, Heath had made a call. Soon after, a dress

was delivered to Grandpa, specifically for Aurora.

But even after lending her money and sending her a dress, the girl hadn’t even called him.

Heath had been in a foul mood all afternoon, snapping at everyone in the branch office. Whether it was the finance director’s minor mistake on a report or the sales manager’s poor performance, he was dissatisfied with everything.

Kieran, ever the loyal sidekick, chose this moment to hand over the Song family’s invitation. “Boss, the Songs do business with us. Maybe you should make an appearance for the sake of good relations.”

In other words, it wasn’t about seeing Aurora; it was about maintaining a business facade.

Heath scowled and ordered Kieran to start the car.

Kieran sighed internally. No one understood the boss’s tsundere tendencies better than he did.

As for Heath, his eyes were fixed on that girl in the crowd.

The dress fit her perfectly, making her look like a forest sprite who had wandered into the human world.

Her eyes were lively and cunning, subtly undermining Madeline and her daughter like a little fox that had been holding back.

Heath, one hand in his pocket and the other holding a glass of red wine, was greeted by someone: “Mr. Fairbank.”

It was Mr. Gideon Song, Ethan’s father and the CEO of the Song Corporation.

Heath turned and handed his wine glass to Kieran, shaking hands with Mr. Song. “Mr. Song.”

“Your presence graces my wife’s birthday banquet, Mr. Fairbank,” Song flattered.

Everyone knew that Heath was the most likely heir to the Fairbank family in the capital, a century-old wealthy family. Being connected to them would make business much easier.

“You’re too kind,’ Heath replied indifferently.

He wasn’t here for business. He was here under the guise of attending a banquet, watching that girl in the dress he’d sent her, making a

scene.

Annoyed at being interrupted, he was getting impatient.

Song, sensing Heath’s reluctance to engage, ventured, “Did you bring a date today, Mr. Fairbank?”

Chapter 41

Heath darkened his face. Kieran quickly intervened, “Our boss doesn’t have the habit of bringing dates.”

Everyone in high society knew that Heath was not interested in women. He never brought a date to any event, only ever accompanied by Kieran.

“You are truly a man of integrity. Such young and successful individuals are rare these days,” Song complimented.

Heath just smiled, not saying a word.

Kieran thought, “Can’t he take a hint? Can’t he see the boss doesn’t want to talk to him? Even a blind man could see that the boss just wants to watch Aurora kick some ass.”

Realizing Heath wasn’t in the mood for conversation, Song excused himself, “I’ll go greet the other guests. Please make yourself comfortable, Mr. Fairbank. My apologies for any shortcomings in our hospitality.”

Heath nodded, finally getting rid of the man.

Turning his gaze back to Aurora, he asked, “What about her test results?”

“The man that day was sent by Mrs. Pendleton. The test results have been given to her,” Kieran reported.

“So, are they planning to make a move tonight?” Heath inquired.

“That’s uncertain. Even if Mrs. Pendleton despises Aurora, she probably wouldn’t cause a scene at her future in-laws’ banquet,” Kieran speculated.

“Keep a close eye on that mother-daughter duo. If they’re asking for trouble, let’s give it to them,” Heath swirled the red wine in his glass, his face a picture of unparalleled beauty and arrogance.

But the moment he saw Aurora smiling at Ethan, Heath’s face darkened instantly.

Aurora noticed the man beside Sophia and said with a smile, “Sophia, aren’t you going to introduce me?”

Sophia walked over and took Ethan’s hand, “Sis, this is Ethan, my boyfriend. Ethan, you’ve met my sister before.”

Ethan was two grades above them and was now attending college.

Aurora smiled, ‘Ethan, I’ve heard so much about you.”
