The moment the topic came up, Evelyn was visibly angered. She had always had a smooth ride in the entertainment industry, so it was unthinkable that she’d be outmaneuvered by Aurora, that little upstart.

“Aurora, don’t get too cocky. I heard you took on Ivy’s project, trying to prop up that old woman. I can’t wait to see how you’ll clean up this mess, Evelyn spat out.

“Alright, Sis. Just you wait and see,” Aurora responded with a smile.

Fearing that Evelyn would lash out at Winters, her assistant hurriedly pulled her away from the scene.

As Aurora turned to leave, Yvonne grabbed her arm and whispered, “Thanks for just now.”

Aurora turned back and looked at Yvonne’s timid demeanor. “What’s the point of thanking me? If she hits you, why don’t you hit back? Are you planning to let her bully you for the rest of your life?”

“I… I don’t dare,” Yvonne said, lowering her head.

Aurora was speechless. Yvonne then asked, “Did you really take on Ivy’s project? She’s not someone you can easily make famous.”

“How would you know? You’ve never tried,” Aurora retorted.

“If you can make her famous, I’ll talk to Evelyn and ask her to let you manage me, Yvonne said with a grin.

“Alright, then wait for it. It won’t take more than two months,” Aurora assured her.

For the next month, Aurora called Ivy every week to check on her situation. A month later, they met again at a café. The woman who walked through the door was nothing like the haggard woman from a month ago. Ivy was wearing a sapphire blue dress, carrying a black handbag, and her figure was stunning. Her hair was elegantly pinned up, revealing her slender neck. She exuded grace and sophistication, showcasing the essence of her age to the fullest.

Aurora smiled, “It seems the mentor I found for you did a pretty good job, huh?”

“Thanks to you, I feel like I’ve found my old self again,” Ivy said, taking off her sunglasses and revealing her meticulously applied makeup.

Aurora pushed a file across the table. “Take a look. This is your first assignment since your comeback.”

Ivy opened the file and was stunned. “A historical drama?”

Aurora took a sip of her coffee and nodded, “It’s a historical drama that starts filming next week. I managed to get you a role. It’s not a leading role, and you won’t have much screen time, but if you act well, this character will definitely stand out.”

The role Ivy was to play was that of the Emperor’s first wife, a gentle and virtuous woman. After experiencing the Emperor’s dalliances in the harem and losing her own child, she ends her life by self–immolation. The role didn’t have much screen time and would wrap up quickly, but it was an extremely emotional and tragic character, requiring an experienced actress.

The next day, Aurora accompanied Ivy to the shooting location. Ivy’s natural classical beauty and gentle temperament made her look like she had walked straight out of a painting when she put on the period costume.

“Is that Ivy playing the Empress? She looks so beautiful!”
