Chapter 91
Heath looked up to see Aurora already in tears. Lysander leaned in and said, “Come on, it’s just a burn. No big deal.
Ignoring him, Heath dialed a number on his phone. “Kieran, pick me up from ‘Nocturne.“”
Lysander was taken aback. “You’re leaving already?”
Heath sat down to put shoes on Aurora and replied, “What else? Can’t you see she’s in pain?”
Seeing Aurora’s tears flowing like a flood, Lysander had no choice. Alaric chimed in, “Let Heath take Aurora home first. Eamon doesn’t need to leave right away; we can keep drinking.”
Heath lifted Aurora into his arms and turned to nod at Eamon. “Sorry, I owe you a meal.”
52
Eamon suddenly stood up and walked over to Heath. “How about tomorrow? Since Aurora isn’t feeling well, let’s gather at your place. I’ll bring the wine.”
Lysander finally cracked a smile. “Sounds good! Party at Heath’s place tomorrow!”
Eamon didn’t say anything but shot a fleeting glance at Aurora, who buried her face in Heath’s chest without uttering a word.
Assuming she was in severe pain, Heath said, “Alright, I’m leaving.”
Alaric opened the door, and Heath strode out, carrying Aurora.
Eamon turned back to look at Lysander and asked, “So, where’s this Aurora from?”
Munching on some fruit, Lysander mumbled, “What do you mean, ‘where from?“”
Eamon clarified, “How did Heath meet her?”
Lysander put down his food and said, “Ah, you mean that. Aurora is the third daughter of the Pendleton family in Seaview. Heath met her when he went there to celebrate her grandfather’s birthday.”
Alaric leaned in and asked, “She looks pretty young, doesn’t she?”
Lysander, finding a topic he liked, said, “What did you expect? Aurora just came of age not long ago and is still in college. Man, your cousin is really robbing the cradle.”
Eamon watched the two fools chattering away. Sitting in a corner of the sofa, sipping his red wine, he thought about the eye contact he had with Aurora earlier. It felt too familiar.
He couldn’t possibly be mistaken; those eyes were alert, sharp, and irresistibly charming. He had seen them before.
But the problem was, he had never been to Seaview.

Chapter 91
…
Heath carried Aurora into the car, and Kieran immediately drove back to their apartment.
Once in the room, Heath carefully applied burn ointment on her again.
52
Aurora’s face was streaked with tears. Heath, feeling helpless, pulled her into his arms and cooed, “Does it hurt that much? Be a good girl, no more crying.”
Aurora pushed Heath away, turned over, and buried herself under the blanket. “Just go, I want to sleep.”
Heath sat on the edge of the bed and asked, “Aurora, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing, my foot just hurts,” she mumbled.
“Aurora, don’t bottle it up,” Heath said.
“I want to sleep! Get out!” Aurora raised her voice.
Heath rubbed his temples. He could sense that Aurora had her own emotional turmoil. She wasn’t the kind of girl who would cry like this just because her foot hurt.
But what he couldn’t understand was, why was she unhappy?
Growing increasingly frustrated, Heath demanded, “Aurora, if there’s something, just say it!”
“I’m fine!” she muffled under the blanket.
It was always like this. Every time her emotions ran high, Heath was there, but she would always wrap herself up, pushing him far away, loudly claiming she was fine.
Heath had had enough of this “I’m fine.” It made him feel like the Aurora he knew was just a surface–level, lively young girl. The real Aurora was untouchable, unreachable.
His patience was wearing thin.
‘Aurora! Come out and talk!” Heath commanded in a deep voice.
‘I don’t want to talk; I want to sleep!” she muffled again.
Staring at the lump of blanket, Heath felt his temples throb with anger. “I’m giving you one last chance to come out and talk properly!”
Aurora remained motionless under the blanket. Furious, Heath slammed the door on his way out.
Hearing the loud slam of the door, Aurora lifted the blanket to catch her breath. She washed her face in the bathroom, returned to bed, and went to sleep.
She didn’t want to face Heath; she hadn’t yet figured out how she should present herself to him.
The next morning, Aurora got up to find that Gloria, the housekeeper had already prepared breakfast. She sat at the dining table for a while but didn’t see Heath come out to eat.

Chapter 91
…
Hesitant, she wondered if she should knock on his door. Just then, the doorbell rang. Aurora went to open it and was surprised to see
Kieran.
52
Kieran smiled and said, “The boss asked me to come back for a document.”
Aurora let him in and followed him to the study, hesitantly asking, “So… did Heath go to the office early?”
Kieran, holding the document, walked out and said, “No, the boss slept at the office last night.”
Aurora lowered her head and muttered an “Oh,” then left the study. Glancing at the untouched food on the dining table, she felt a lump in her throat and told Gloria, “Just clear it away.”
“But Miss Aurora, you haven’t eaten yet,” Gloria said.
“I can’t eat. Just clear it,” Aurora shook her head.
Gloria had no choice but to clean up the table.
Kieran observed the situation; it was clear they had fought.
The boss had run off to sleep at the office in the middle of the night, and Aurora couldn’t even eat breakfast upon not seeing Heath.
Aurora walked Kieran to the door, and he said, “Miss Aurora, the boss has never wooed a girl before.”
“Huh?” Aurora was puzzled.
“He’s never been this invested in anyone, so maybe you could… train him a bit?” Kieran tentatively suggested.
Aurora was speechless.
Train Heath? Wouldn’t he skin her alive?
Kieran switched to matchmaker mode, babbling, “Tonight, Alaric and Lysander are coming over, right? Don’t hold a grudge against the boss.”
Aurora pouted, “I’m not holding a grudge.”
Kieran beamed, “That’s great! The boss loves the sweet and sour fish! Remember that!”
With that, Kieran dashed into the elevator, not giving her a chance to retort.
Aurora was left speechless.
Reflecting on last night, she realized she had been the one to lose her temper for no reason, causing Heath to get angry. Maybe buying a fish to make up for it was the least she could do.
Thinking this, Aurora went back to her room to change, then told Gloria she was going out for a bit.
