Lysander rolled his eyes, Your Aurora is such a princess, huh?

Heath: Once she’s done with her checkup, you can leave.

Lysander:

Plopping down on the sofa, Lysander looked like he was about to throw a fit. Heath! We’ve been bros for years, and you’re ditching me for a girl? No, wait! She’s not even a woman yet!

Aurora:

Heath rubbed his temples, What do you want?

Lysander quickly replied, Eamon is back in town. How about we go grab a drink?

Heath glanced at Aurora, who was sitting on the sofa, Some other time.

Lysander got impatient, What do you mean some other time? We had plans, and Eamon might leave any day now. So, are we going or

not?

Heath, lounging on the sofa, said leisurely, Not going.

Lysander was speechless, You’re just worried about leaving Aurora bored at home, aren’t you? Just bring her along! She’s gonna be your

wife sooner or later!

Aurora: …”

Heath turned to her, Wanna go? Eamon is a friend of mine, he’s been working in the States.

Lysander leaned in, Aurora, come on! We hardly get to see Eamon because he’s always flying around.

Aurora sighed, Fine, let’s go.

Heath went to her room to grab a coat for her to wear, picked up some fluffy slippers for her feet, and then scooped her up in his arms. Lysander, lock up and start the car.

Lysander:

So why did he have to go with these two? To highlight that he’s the foreveralone guy in the group?

Aurora kicked her legs a bit, Um, I can walk, you know

Heath gave her a look, carried her into the elevator, and said, Just behave, don’t move.

Even though she was 5’9, Aurora felt like a petite doll next to Heath.

Lysander drove the car downstairs. Heath placed Aurora in the back seat before getting in himself. Let’s go.

Chapter 90

:

Sitting alone in the driver’s seat, Lysander was speechless. Had he just been demoted to a fulltime chauffeur?

52

They parked in front of a highend club. Heath carried Aurora out of the car, and Lysander tossed the keys to the valet. He walked up to Heath and grinned, So, Heath, you planning to carry her all the way upstairs?

Heath didn’t even glance at him, Jealous?

Lysander:

Hmph!

As they entered the club, both men drew attention with their striking presence. Aurora buried her face deeper into Heath’s chest. What

was this all about?

An acquaintance greeted Lysander, Lysander, long time no see. Where’ve you been hanging out?

Annoyed and still holding a grudge against Heath, Lysander waved him off, Move, I’ve got plans tonight!

Lysander burst into the private room upstairs, and Heath followed, still carrying Aurora.

Someone in the room teased, Heath, what’s this? You brought a doll along?

Lysander plopped down next to the guy and took a big swig of his drink, You all need to hear me out. I kindly invited him to welcome Eamon back, and he’s acting all reluctant!

The guy chuckled, Well, this is big news. Let’s see what beauty has Heath so captivated.

The guy peeked over, and Heath carefully set Aurora down on the sofa, Ignore them. If you get bored, we can leave.

Aurora nodded, then looked up at the guy who had just spoken. He bore a striking resemblance to Heath.

The guy had charming, flirtatious eyes and said with a grin, Hi, I’m Alaric Strider, Heath’s cousin.

Aurora glanced at Heath, her eyes saying, This goofball is your cousin?

Heath nodded, confirming it.

Aurora smiled politely, Nice to meet you, I’m Aurora.

Lysander interrupted, Eamon, why so quiet?

Only then did Aurora notice another man sitting in a dark corner.

He was dressed in a dark suit, sitting upright, exuding a cold aura. Compared to him, Heath seemed much warmer.

Eamon Ironside was staring intently at Aurora. She felt a jolt in her heart. She had seen this man before.

To be precise, she had seen him when she was Olivia.

Aurora racked her brain, trying to remember where she had seen Eamon before.

Heath noticed her silence and asked, What’s wrong?

Aurora shook her head, I’m just feeling a bit stuffy.

52

Heath poured her a glass of fruit wine from the table and continued to chat casually with the others.

Aurora tapped her forehead, trying to remember. Then it hit her. Two years ago, at a masquerade ball in the States, she saw two men in black suits standing amidst a crowd, oozing sophistication. Even she, who was there on a mission and wearing a mask, couldn’t help but take a few extra glances.

One of those men was Eamon Ironside.

She remembered clearly how Eamon sipped his red wine while chatting with another man.

And that other manwearing a black halfmask, revealing sensual lips

Aurora’s glass of fruit wine slipped from her hand and clattered onto the coffee table, making a deafening noise.

Her memory couldn’t be wrong. The man with the mask was Heath!

So, two years ago, on that smoky night at the American ball, she had been so close to Heath. Close enough that she, hiding behind her mask, had raised her glass and offered those two elegant men a slight smile.

Tears started to flow uncontrollably. How could she now live under the same roof with Heath, knowing they had crossed paths before when she was an assassin?

Heath turned to her, Aurora, what’s wrong?

She looked up abruptly, meeting Eamon’s scrutinizing gaze. Her tears burst forth, her voice trembling, Mymy foot hurts

Heath immediately took off her slippers to check her burned foot.

Alaric chuckled, I thought Heath was a womanhater. Aurora, you must be something special.

Lysander joined in with his own sarcastic comments, but all Aurora could hear was a buzzing sound. All she could see was Heath’s perfect profile, and in her mind was Eamon’s razorsharp gaze.

She had worn a mask; Eamon shouldn’t recognize her. But why was he staring at her like that?

Aurora lowered her head, tears dropping one by one. She was terrifiedterrified of being exposed, terrified of people discovering her rebirth, and most of all

Terrified that Heath’s gaze would change if he ever found out.
