Logan grabbed Hailey’s hand, stopping her from removing the necklace. “It’s already bought. Why return it? If I, Logan Wynn, take back something I’ve given, what will happen to my reputation?”
If he actually returned this necklace, he would become a laughingstock in his social circle.
The fourth young master of the Wynn family having to return a necklace worth over a hundred thousand dollars?
Even with the Wynn family’s current situation…
Outsiders didn’t know!
He still had his pride!
“Reputation?” Patrick let out a bitter laugh and grabbed another pillow, throwing it at Logan’s face. “The Wynn family is about to go bankrupt! Our reputation is about to be trampled into the dirt! And you’re talking to me about reputation? What damn reputation do you have left?”
After roaring, Patrick’s vision went black, and he leaned against the sofa, panting heavily.
The surge of anger made his headache unbearable.
Patrick raised a hand and pressed hard on his temples, his face contorting in pain.
In a daze, he remembered the past…
Due to work pressure and long nights, he used to get terrible headaches whenever he was stressed.
After Serena was brought back from the countryside…
Every time his head was splitting with pain…
That timid little girl would silently prepare a soothing drink, bring it to his study, and massage his head with just the right amount of pressure…
It seemed that ever since Serena had arrived at the Wynn family…
He hadn’t had a headache in a very, very long time.
Now that Serena was gone…
His old ailment was back.
And there was no one to care for him.
The more he thought about it, the more irritated and impatient Patrick became. “Go, get your mother down here! Ahem, ahem…”
But Patrick only gave her a cold glance and asked directly, “Where is Serena’s room?”
Marianne’s accusatory expression froze. Her eyes darted away, and she avoided his gaze guiltily. “Wh-why are you asking that?”
“I’m asking you, which room did she live in after she came back to the Wynn family?!” Seeing her expression, Patrick’s heart sank. He shouted impatiently.
Marianne flinched at his roar, mainly because she was still terrified from the beating he’d given her outside Obsidian Palace.
She shrank back and stammered, “She already moved out… Her room has been cleared out. What’s the use of asking now…”
“Speak!” Patrick lost all patience. He slammed his hand on the sofa again and, fighting a strong wave of dizziness, forced himself to stand.
Marianne lowered her head. “She… she always slept in… in the storage room at the end of the hall on the first floor, the one for junk…”
“The storage room?!”
Patrick’s voice shot up several octaves as he stared at Marianne in disbelief.
His head swam again.
