Serena looked away and stood up.
Just as she was about to leave…
The man grabbed her wrist again.
Nicholas tilted his chin, motioning for Serena to follow him to the sofa. “Time for your medicine.”
Serena glanced at the back of her hand. “It’s almost healed.”
“Doctor’s orders are twice a day. Change the dressing frequently to avoid scarring.” Nicholas pulled the girl’s hand, leading her to sit on the sofa. “If it scars, your family will be heartbroken.”
The girl’s hands were slender and fair, as delicate as porcelain—exquisite.
How could such beautiful hands be left with a scar?
Serena was speechless.
She obediently sat on the sofa.
She watched as Nicholas retrieved the first-aid kit that was already on the coffee table, sat down beside her, and skillfully removed the old dressing before reapplying the special ointment.
She didn’t move, simply letting Nicholas work.
Nearby, Fiona had a fond, knowing smile on her face.
That was her young master, alright. This is how you pursue a girl—seize every single opportunity!
It wouldn’t be long before she had a young madam to serve!
Fiona nudged Nathaniel, and they went to organize the clothes on the racks, leaving the space for the young couple.
There were so many clothes.
It would take them quite a while to move them all into the empty room next to Serena’s.
As Nicholas applied the medicine, he glanced at the two busy servants.
He said, “The two rooms next to the one you chose are empty. I’ll have someone knock down the walls and turn them into a walk-in closet for you.”
