An image suddenly flashed through Patrick's mind... of the high and mighty heir of the Blackwood family at Le Céleste, walking toward Serena like a god in his refined glory.
A jolt shot through his heart.
Could it be...
Was the man in the car the Blackwood family's heir?
But a second later, Patrick quickly extinguished the thought. Impossible!
What kind of status does the Blackwood family's heir have? How could a man like that be Serena's sugar daddy?
While he wasn't qualified to know Nicholas personally, he had heard the legends about him. It was said that not even a female fly could get close to that man who stood at the pinnacle. Even if Serena looked like an angel, there was no way she could have hooked up with Nicholas!
That time at Le Céleste, the Blackwood heir probably just greeted her out of consideration for Mr. Foster and his circle of elite friends.
However, regardless of who the man in the car was, Serena had undeniably latched onto wealth and power.
With that thought, Patrick quickly took out his phone and started sending messages to Serena.
Marianne, Hailey, and the others had caught up by now, only to see the back of the disappearing car.
"That little bitch! She just drove off without even getting out!" Marianne stomped her foot in anger, spitting fiercely in the direction the car had gone. "We were the ones who raised her for all those years! Does she think she's all that just because she's landed a sugar daddy?"
Marianne recoiled as he barked at her, her heart hammering in her chest. The entire screen was filled with his texts, with not a single reply from her.
She couldn't help but mutter, "What's the point of sending so many messages? I bet after finding her rich man, she blocked you long ago!"
Patrick's hands froze. He shot Marianne an irritated look. "And whose fault is that? If you had been nicer to her in the past, not so cruel, would we be in this mess today?"
"The way she used to chase after us, just wanting us to spare her a glance, if you had shown her even a little kindness, her face alone could have brought our Wynn family considerable benefits! But no, you just had to push her away!"
Patrick grew angrier the more he spoke, increasingly convinced that marrying this brainless woman from new money was a terrible mistake. He looked down, found Serena's number, and dialed it, saying irritably, "I'm telling you, Serena is not the same person she used to be! If we can coax her back, the Wynn family will be saved!"
