Brandon ended the call, practically glowing with happiness. Seeing him like that, Oliver couldn't help but grin as well. "Hey, Grandpa, mind if I tag along with you?"
"Of course not! Let's make it a full-on family dinner. And don't forget to invite Josie. She's your wife and part of our clan. If she's got the time, she should definitely come."
Brandon was already on his feet, eager to head to the restaurant. Oliver grabbed his phone to ring up Josefina, watching as Brandon walked off, clearly in high spirits.
"Hey, Josie," Oliver said when she answered, "are you free this afternoon? Cole's back, and Grandpa wants us all to get together."
"Sure, I'm free. Just send me the address, and I’ll grab a cab," Josefina replied.
"Nah, I'll swing by and pick you up. I’d feel better if you didn’t have to take a cab alone. Just give me a ring when you’re almost ready, and I’ll be there."
With Oliver being so insistent, Josefina agreed easily. "Alright then, come and get me."
After hanging up, Josefina went to find Percy. "The lab results will be ready later. I’ve got to step out for a bit, but I’ll be back this afternoon."
"No need to come back, Josie. I’ll snap a picture of the results and send them to you. It’s chilly today, and they say it might snow, so keep warm," Percy advised.
"You do the same," Josefina replied with a warm smile.
Just then, her phone buzzed with another call from Logan. As she walked to meet Oliver, she answered, "Hey, you haven’t forgotten about me, have you?"
Logan’s voice was playfully sulky, like a kid feeling left out. Josefina reassured him, "How could I forget my favorite student? I’ve just been super busy lately. Besides, didn’t you come over for dinner last night? We saw each other then!"
"But I’m not a fan of big crowds," Logan admitted.
"Tell you what," Josefina suggested, "let’s do dinner tonight, just the two of us. You can bring Luke along, though."
