Rowan kept his cool, smiling warmly. "You young folks have your own world. I'm getting on in years; living with me would be no fun. You'll understand once Wilder ties the knot."
Cole pressed on, "I heard you remarried later. Don’t they live with you either?"
Rowan's smile faltered for a moment, but he maintained his composure. "Let's not talk about that. It's quite the scandal. You'll find out in due time."

Cole broke the silence, "Wilder, have you secured a position at a hospital yet?"
"Not yet. I plan to look around today. Dad, are we really settling here for good?"
Sandi piped up with youthful enthusiasm, "Of course we are! Grandpa's loaded, and Dad stands to inherit a part of it."
"Ningning, watch your mouth!" Cole snapped, voice stern.
Sandi shrank back, muttering an apology.
Makiko added, "Remember to behave and not trouble your dad. We don’t want to make things difficult for him."
Both Sandi and Wilder fell silent, the atmosphere in the car growing heavy.
