All of Oliver’s properties were laid out right there. The deeds and titles were neatly organized in a folder. Josefina flipped through them with an impressive speed that caught Linden’s attention. He realized that for Oliver to have married someone like Josefina, she must be truly extraordinary. Linden’s respect for her deepened.
“Linden, I’m going to have a look around inside. Once I’m done, we’ll head to the next spot,” Josefina said.
“Sure thing, ma’am. I’ll be right here at the entrance. Just holler if you need anything,” Linden replied.
With that, Linden stepped outside.
Inside the sprawling 5,000-square-foot mansion, Josefina explored every corner. On the shelves were personal collections and a secure lockbox that required both her fingerprint and a passcode from Oliver to open. There was a $15 million diamond necklace and two large boxes filled with vibrant, dazzling gems. Plus, a pure gold headdress weighing a hefty fifty pounds, which Josefina tried on just for fun.
After wandering through the warehouse-like space for three hours, Josefina still hadn’t seen it all. Deciding she’d had enough for one day, she grabbed her tablet and headed outside.
Linden greeted her with a smile as she emerged, yawning. “Ma’am, you’re back.”
Josefina gave a soft nod and turned to close the door behind her, fiddling with the handle a bit, testing its sturdiness.
Linden, unsure what she was up to, straightened up proudly. Was she checking the door’s quality?
“Don’t worry, ma’am. This door is fireproof, blast-proof, and waterproof. It can’t be pried open, and even the handle is nearly impossible to compromise. If someone tries, it triggers an alarm and locks down completely,” Linden assured her.
Josefina raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “And what happens when it’s locked down completely?”
“If you need it opened, we have a master key that can unlock it,” Linden explained confidently.
The six bodyguards standing outside didn’t even blink; they knew it to be true.
