Josefina noticed Oliver's mood shift and quickly took his hand, her voice softening a bit. "Remember back when we were in the countryside? We didn't have all these fancy gadgets to play with. Swinging on vines was our version of a roller coaster, wasn't it?"
Oliver replied, his voice tinged with a bit of melancholy, "I never swung on vines with anyone else."
Josefina felt a little overwhelmed. People often say women and children are hard to manage, but in her experience, men can be just as tricky—especially when they're feeling jealous!
With the current situation, Josefina felt like she was in the middle of some romantic comedy where she was playing the role of the villain.
"Oliver, let me explain..."
"Hey, Master, this place is so boring. Did this guy make you stay in this cage?" Logan chimed in, looking around with clear distaste.
Oliver shot him an incredulous look. "You call this sprawling estate a cage?"
He really wasn't in the mood to deal with Logan's antics right now.
"Logan, I actually love it here. The forests, the birds, the flowers—it's all so refreshing," Josefina said, trying to ease the tension.
Logan gave Oliver a suspicious look, clearly unimpressed. "Master, this amusement park is so lame," he said, pulling Josefina aside and tapping his temple. "Master, don't you think there's something a bit off about him?"
Josefina sighed. Logan wasn't one to put others down without a reason. It must be something Oliver did that irked him.
"Why would you say that, Logan?" Josefina asked, puzzled.
Logan leaned in, lowering his voice. "I mean, this place is tiny. How does he even have fun here?"
Josefina couldn't help but burst into laughter, tears springing to her eyes.
Oliver's expression darkened. Logan was poking at his insecurities with reckless abandon.
In a nutshell: Oliver was about ready to blow his top.
