Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 1055

Josefina and Oliver stepped into their cozy suburban home, shaking off the brisk winter chill. Josefina shrugged off her life-saving puffer jacket, while Oliver carefully hung up his coat.

"Josie, did you notice anything unusual in Makiko’s room?" Oliver asked, his curiosity piqued.

Josefina sank into the couch, and Oliver handed her a steaming mug of hot cocoa. The warmth seeped into her fingers, and she couldn't help but sigh with relief as the heat spread through her body.

"I'm not really sure," she admitted. "I collected what I could, and Asher's already sent it to the lab. We'll have to wait for the results to know for certain."

Oliver settled next to her, slipping on a pair of gloves as he retrieved a small pouch from his pocket, followed by a crumpled piece of paper.

"What's that, Oliver?" Josefina asked, intrigued, as she set her cocoa aside.

Oliver carefully flattened the paper on the table, revealing a series of numbers. "I found this in the trash," he explained. "It wasn’t completely burned, so I figured it might be important."

Josefina leaned closer, studying the numbers without touching them, her mind racing. "It’s Morse code," she mused, though the exact message remained elusive.

"No rush," Oliver replied. "We can crack it later."

He tucked the paper back into the pouch, removed his gloves, and headed to the bathroom for a thorough handwash, feeling a shower would ensure complete cleanliness.

Emerging from the shower, towel-drying his hair, Oliver found Josefina already asleep, nestled under the covers. He switched off the bedside lamp, quietly headed to the next room to finish drying his hair, and finally, feeling the warmth seep into his bones, slipped into bed beside Josefina.

As Hattie descended the stairs, she spotted Grandpa Robert and Emily performing tai chi in the garden. Emily paused as Hattie approached.
