Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 1074

This wasn't just any ordinary girl; she was a crafty little fox! A clever little fox!

Mason was on edge, feeling like his days were numbered.

Josefina stepped forward, bending slightly at the waist. "Mason, I bet you know a lot of secrets about Sydney, don't you?"

In Mason's view, there was a beautiful face, skin as flawless as porcelain, and eyes as innocent as a newborn's. Her large, dark eyes shone like grapes.

How could such a pretty girl be so devious?

"I..."

Mason began to speak, only to be interrupted by a violent fit of coughing.

Josefina gently turned him onto his side.

Mason spat out black blood, but his spirits remained relatively intact.

With a soothing voice, Josefina said, "You just focus on getting better. And when you are, remember you owe me one."

Mason met Josefina's eyes, dark as ink, and felt a wave of anxiety.

When Mason didn’t respond, Josefina’s voice dropped a notch, becoming icy. "Not willing to share with me?"

"I am, I am! I'll tell you anything you want," Mason replied urgently.

She wanted to live.

She wanted revenge!

Right now, she had to switch sides.

She'd work for anyone as long as she could stay alive.

Josefina smiled sweetly. "Well, we'll see how you do."

Oliver cast a sidelong glance at Mason, causing her to quickly shut her eyes.

If she couldn't see him, she wouldn't be afraid.

She was the tenth-generation heir of the Snider family, for crying out loud. How had it come to this?

...

"Ms. Josefina, what about the ghost woman? Maybe we should just kick her out," Kelsey said, clearly worried.

"Kelsey, she’s not a ghost; she has a name. She’ll stay here and recover for now. Prepare some light meals for her. When you get close, make sure to wear protective gear. Adam can take her the food; it’s best if you don’t get too near."

Annika glanced nervously at the room, a shiver running down her spine.

"Ms. Josefina, you should also keep your distance. Safety first."

"I’ll be careful."

Kelsey chimed in, "Ms. Josefina, come back and eat. We just steamed some fresh apple turnovers and those mushroom and spinach pastries you love. They’re all ready."

"Let's head back," Josefina agreed, her stomach confirming her decision with a growl.

As the car pulled up, Josefina hopped in, eager to get home and enjoy some warm pastries.

Hattie and Garrett were waiting by the door, their eyes searching the horizon. Seeing Josefina return, they both sighed in relief.

Their daughter was home, and all was well.
