The family had just wrapped up dinner, and everyone scattered to do their own thing. Just then, the butler walked in with some news.
"Ms. Josefina, Mr. Cole Baldwin and his wife, Makiko, have arrived."
Cole and Makiko? Josefina was a bit taken aback. What were they doing at the Harrison estate?
Garrett and Hattie were busy with work, as were Dorian and Oliver, so they weren't around. But Josefina wasn't fazed.
"Let them in. We'll meet in the living room today." No more garden meetings; those two probably had enough of that place.
Right then, Grandpa Robert and Emily joined her.
Grandpa Robert said, "Josie, we heard Cole brought that lady from Japan, so we thought we'd come and have a look."
He was a bit worried they might be up to no good, so he wanted to be there for support. Emily leaned in and whispered, "Josie, let your grandpa and I handle the talking. You just listen. If you don't feel like chiming in, stay quiet, and I'll take care of it."
Josefina felt touched. "Thanks, Grandma."
"No need to thank me; you're my precious granddaughter, my only one. Of course, I'd look after you," Emily said, gazing at Josefina with eyes full of love and care.
Just then, Cole and Makiko walked in, carrying a bunch of gifts, making it clear they valued the Harrison family.
Grandpa Robert stepped up to greet them. "Cole, it's about time you came back. Ever since you left, Brandon's been down in the dumps. Now that you're back, it's wonderful."
Cole looked a bit sheepish. "Drake, it's my fault for worrying everyone."
"Cole, I heard you lost your memory?"
"Yeah, Drake. I did. Otherwise, I would have returned sooner," Cole sighed.
Emily jumped in, "Cole, have a seat with your wife and take a breather. The chef just whipped up some pastries. I'll have them bring some over for you to try."
