Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 1081

"Hey?"

Josefina looked up, her face as bright as day with those big, expressive eyes. She had that kind of sweetness that made Austin's usual bravado melt away.

A real darling!

"Hey there, freshman. So, you're into computers too, huh?"

Austin's nasal drawl was the kind that you wanted to just tune out.

Michael jumped in, "Josefina, here's the thing. If you make changes up there and something goes wrong, I'll have to start all over again."

What a pain.

Michael scratched his head, looking a bit sheepish.

Josefina's lips curved into a confident smile. "Don't worry, I've got this. If anything goes wrong, I'll take the blame."

Austin, standing next to Michael, was about to stop her but hesitated when he saw the progress on the screen. He swallowed his words.

Josefina was unfazed by any distractions, her fingers flying over the keyboard with a confident click-clack.

After a bit, it was obvious she knew her stuff about computers!

Austin, who'd been holding his breath, finally eased up.

Josefina stopped typing and said, "All done. Take a look."

Michael and Austin both leaned in, their eyes glued to the screen, examining the code closely.

Josefina felt they were getting a bit too close, and just as she was about to get up, she noticed Oliver entering the room.

Oliver looked less than pleased as he pulled Josefina aside.

Everyone's attention shifted to him.

"Why are you here?" Josefina asked, pulling him to the side.

"I came to pick you up from school. Some big-mouth was going on about you being in a room full of guys."

Josefina rolled her eyes. "And who was that loudmouth?"

"Someone named Joelle."

"Yeah, super fast," added another, wide-eyed with admiration.

Oliver felt a vein throb in his forehead.

Josefina almost burst into laughter. She remembered a saying she'd seen online: Never tell a man he's quick at anything.

Michael patted Austin's arm. "What are you on about? That's pure skill!"

Oliver shot them a look: Zip it!

Michael surveyed the finished product, clearly impressed. "Hey man, are you a computer science major too? I don't think I've seen you around. Interested in joining our project? We'd love to have you."

Austin chimed in, "We don't expect freebies. If we make money, you get a cut. We're all about fairness."

Oliver shook his head, "Not interested."

He turned to Josefina, "All done here?"

"Yup, let's head out."

Josefina looped her arm through Oliver's, and together, they walked out.
